A siren sounded about 10 p.m., meaning people should stay away from Boulder Creek.

I think the area of white along I-25 is in honor of you

I was out on a call from 1 to 3 am. Water running over Broadway in Boulder, many streets flooded so deep I turned around. Broadway closed at Linden—a rescue effort underway there. Listening to emergency radio: Most canyon roads into the mountains closed at the mouth: Coal Creek, Boulder, Lefthand, Hwy 66 into Lyons, etc. Foothills Hwy flooded and closed south of Lefhand. US 36 closed from Lyons into Larimer County. A firefighter about 3 miles up Lefthand reports 15-20 ft wall of water going down.

So far it doesn’t seem as bad as 1976 Big Thompson but the storm is moving through slowly and the water accumulation continues.

Severe drought everywhere in-between, of course.

  3. Sunsettommy says:

Where I live in eastern Washington there is a TWO inch shortfall for this date and this over a 7.5 yearly amount average yet my area is classified as average for the date.

  4. Pathway says:

Western Colo. shows severe drought as well, except I have only watered once in the last 6 weeks where normally I would have to apply .5″ every 3 to 4 days.
