My prediction above was based on understanding of the inter-related Artic/climatic system obtained through in-depth research conducted as part of my Ph.D. studies on abrupt climate change, and through my academic work as part-time professor in climatology/meteorology at the University of Ottawa.

Slightly to one side , but I didn’t know where to mention it. I detect possibly a sea change in the MSM coverage of AGW . I’ve just noticed that Yahoo which has been notorious for it AGW bias has finally linked a sceptics point of view. In this case it’s up there right now on their home page with an article from the Wall Street Journal , written by Matt Ridley no less.

I read his story at the link and I’ll be damned if I can find any sort of retraction. It’s almost as if he still thinks we have a summers melt to go through and it will still be all gone!

A PHD today just isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Wasn’t there an article in the news about a young girl, 26, claiming to have a PHD in Mid East studies? She got McCain to quote her. Turns out she didn’t have the PHD. But why would anyone quote a PHD who is only 26? Not much of an experience base to draw from. Similarly with the Geraldo Rivera’s of the news world. He/they claim to know exactly what the mid-east is thinking just because they were there once. They stand their ground in an argument because they know their “one” visit trumps your “no” visit.
Just because you visited Cape Canaveral once doesn’t make you a rocket scientist.
She had claimed to be in a Masters/PhD program. So using her ‘expertise’ as a basis to attack Syria was a complete setup. The internet rode to the rescue.
The irony of it all is that Beckwith will defend this piece of scientific crap during his PhD dissertation and then the academic committee will review it and he will receive his doctorate based on total BS!
Beckwith also claims to believe that we have had a ‘stable’ climate for the past 11,000 years, only a neo-climatologist would believe such a thing. It’s time we make climatology a subset of the department of history, and cure these delusions.
This guy is an embarrassment to the Canadian climate community. And he is teaching this crap at Ottawa U?
