A breathtakingly ignorant climate denier who blogs under a pen name has been pointing out for the last three months that 2013 Arctic ice extent was tracking just below 2006. He took huge amounts of abuse and knee slapping laughter from the experts who have been predicting an ice-free Arctic this year.

Who would you trust? Someone with no climate credentials, or the world’s leading Arctic experts?
the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer of 2013

James Hansen : ‘This is the last chance’
6/23/2008
“We see a tipping point occurring right before our eyes,” Hansen told the AP before the luncheon. “The Arctic is the first tipping point and it’s occurring exactly the way we said it would.”
Hansen, echoing work by other scientists, said that in five to 10 years, the Arctic will be free of sea ice in the summer.

June 26, 2013
The alarming loss of sea ice which has grown worse each summer over the past several decades, has taken a sharp turn for the worse: this year the loss is right in the middle, the most resilient part of the ice cover. This could lead to a completely ice-free Arctic Ocean by September.

I think I know that guy.
That is Dard (Dog) Nevets.
Good call Dog.
You da man!
In that article he also invokes more and larger hurricanes due to AGW, a claim which the IPCC have more or less dropped in this latest edition of their climate bible.
John Kerry’s article, I meant.
Steven, you deserve a Nobel Science Award for presenting actual Real Science to the world.
(provided there is any integrity left in such an award)
Thanks! I would want to share that with Yasser Arafat and Barack Hussein Obama
Better change your avatar to sepia tone when you’re in Kansas.
Actually, Steven deserves a very large grant for the many hours he has spent educating the ‘experts’. Prizes are for kiddies. 😉
Steve.
I visit this site everyday. I thought i should say something.
And it’s thank you.
Keep doing what you are doing. (:
Well outta several million bloggers at least 10 must guess right 🙂 ..if u throw millions of darts at a dartboard bulls eye will be filled…stop bloviating. 🙂
hazze,
So several million predictions that are wrong dilutes the prediction that is right? So I guess no one can take credit for predict anything correctly unless everyone else predicts it correctly also. What a moron!
Patting yourself on the back? That is very, very low, Steven. Especially when you said on Aug. 12, 2013, “The area minimum normally occurs in August. In 1995 it occurred on August 28. This year it will probably be earlier.” http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2013/08/12/arctic-sets-the-record-for-the-largest-increase-in-summer-ice/ Of course, those statements are completely wrong.
On Aug. 14, 2013 you said, “Pond Inlet is going to start freezing over in about a week.” http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2013/08/18/word-of-advice-to-rowers-go-home/ It is still ice free a month and a half later. http://www.arctic.io/observations/8/2013-09-27/8-N73.154751-W80.229983/Canada-Baffin
On Aug. 21, 2013 you said, “The US Navy is forecasting an increase in extent over the next week. By mid-September, there could be twice as much ice as last year.” http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2013/08/21/arctic-melt-season-about-over-climate-alarmism-suffers-a-nuclear-meltdown/ Again, no there isn’t. http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/charctic-interactive-sea-ice-graph/
Even the post that you link to in this post (Jul 12, 2013) was not three months ago, and could hardly be called predictive, since the ice extent was virtually identical to 2006 on that date. http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/455484/Capture-GIF.html This year hardly tracked 2006, except for the date you are claiming that was such fantastic prediction.
ROFLMAO
You guys are really getting desperate
WOW! you’re famous!
Yeah, It’s time to fire him as a professional ice expert. I’m sick of my tax dollars paying for his imperfect predictions. Oh, wait….never mind.
It was almost ice-free last year. 🙂
Don’t they consider “ice free” less than a million sq.km or is it miles?
Well done Mr Breathtakingly Ignorant. We like your work which is why we come here. I have a breathtakingly ignorant PhD in science, so I feel completely at home. You are also right, which is sometimes slightly pertinent.
