Snowden’s Contribution To America

Regardless of how you feel about his behavior, Snowden accomplished something no one else was able to do previously. It is now possible to have an honest discussion about the state of government.

To gather a sense of how far this country has slipped to the left over the past 50 years, Hubert Humphrey was one of the most liberal Democrats in the 1960s.

Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms … The right of citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard, against the tyranny which now appears remote in America but which historically has proven to be always possible.

– Hubert H. Humphrey, Senator, Vice President

  1. Snowden = rights of the individual over the state. That’s all you have to keep in mind.

If Snowden had hired a lawyer and then made accusations, and selectively leaked things to media, it would have been a tiny story that lasted a few days. I say that because that’s what happened to the many other scandals even with serious allegations and several dead Americans.

By running off to Hong Kong, then Russia, the media couldn’t ignore the Snowden story. Not sure what it means for Snowden, but it was a much better way to get the message across, than what most people in the media were saying he should have done.

To the left? You think? I think is more to the right, where government works hand in hand with Big Companies, somewhere i read that falls into the definition of fascism

Crony capitalism is a feature of the left. (It allows the parasites to stay in business a bit longer [note the double entrendre].) Ayn Rand understood this, evidently you cannot.

As I was reminded today to succinctly, the whole argument that a “well-armed and organized militia” is what the 2nd amendment is describing fails miserably when one points out that the Bill of Rights is a bill of individual right, God-given rights. That’s the slam dunk, a Bill of Individual RIghts.

The 2nd Amendment only describes and emphasizes on of our already existing rights, emphatically protecting it from all incursions. We already have these rights, even without the Bill of Rights.
