White House Claims Consensus On Syria

Did John Cook do another survey for the White House?

White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said Sunday that an impending U.S. attack on Syria would send a message to Iranian leaders that they should not feel free to develop nuclear weapons.

It will send them a message that the US is run by a lunatic and will reinforce their desire to develop nuclear weapons

“This is an opportunity to be bold with the Iranians,” McDonough said on NBC’s Meet the Press.

This was supposed to be about Syria.

He said, “nobody is rebutting the intelligence; nobody doubts the intelligence” that is the basis for President Barack Obama pinning the blame for an August 21 chemical weapons attack in Syria on President Bashar Assad’s regime which is fighting to suppress a rebellion that began in 2011.

The UN hasn’t even released their report yet. The May UN report said that the rebels likely had chemical weapons.

If the U.S. thinks Iran needs to be dealt with, the U.S. should be negotiating with Iran. NOT BOMBING SYRIA. Killing innocent Syrian citizens that happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (collateral damage, there IS NO SUCH THING as “precise surgical strikes) is a P*** POOR way to take Iran “down a peg”.

My kids knew when they were 3-years-old that if Suzi takes your block don’t get the block back from Suzi by punching out 1-year-old defenseless Billy while he is taking a nap.

Our government is a bunch of passive-aggressive babies who have YET to possess enough social skills to negotiate their way through kindergarten.

    NO TO WAR WITH SYRIA!

Oh nobody is doubting or rebutting the intelligence that nobody’s allowed to see? Aces! Going to war with one country to send a message to a different is one of the flimsiest reasons for a war ever fronted. What’s next, they looked at us funny?

Is the White House completely psycotic ?

According to the Russian news outlet Telegrafist.org, the People’s Liberation Army dispatched the Jinggangshan amphibious dock landing ship and the vessel was seen passing through the Red Sea towards the Suez Canal, the waterway in Egypt that leads to the Mediterranean Sea and waters off the coast of Israel, Lebanon and Syria.

According to the report, the ship has not been sent to engage in any aggressive actions but is merely there to “observe” the actions of Russian and US warships. However, the Jinggangshan is equipped for combat, has conventional armaments and secondary cannons, and was utilized as part of a “show of force” in maneuvers aimed at defending the South China Sea earlier this year.

The report states that additional PLA warships have also been sent to the region but that their identity is unknown.

Yesterday it was reported that Russia was sending three more ships – two destroyers and a missile cruiser – to the eastern Mediterranean to bolster its forces which already include three other warships dispatched over the last two weeks.

With the Chinese now sending ships to the area things are getting even more dicey.

Hopefully congress will not support Obomber and the US will remove some of its ships from the area. Of course this will be touted by both Russia and China as a demonstration of US weakness, but with Obomber at the helm that is becoming more evident with each passing day anyway.

If an attack on Syria tells Iran anything then that whoever sits in the White House will hit them on the flimsiest of pretenses if they feel like it, will of the people, proof or diplomacy be damned.
