My blog has had far more page views than healthcare.gov, with almost no glitches. WordPress handles volumes hundreds or thousands of times larger than the $600,000,000 Obamacare web site, without a hitch.
And Obama wants you to trust his historically incompetent administration with your health and well being. He views the 7 billion other people on Earth as being toys put here to boost his fragile ego.
Since I retired, it’s hard to get good IT people anymore.
Seriously, I talked to a couple of current IT people, and they said the state of the IT business is degenerate. Healthcare.gov may be a symptom of a greater problem.
It is, and I saw something of that greater problem coming over 30 years ago, before I ever bought my first computer (a Commodore 64). Two words: proprietary software (and the inevitable reliance on it).
I think another reason is that Apple, Google, Facebook, etc. are scooping up all the good software people these days leaving government to contend with what is left. I witnessed that first hand at the national lab that I worked at for 30 years as a software engineer.
