When I was a child, we were told to eat all of our food because of the starving kids in China. I’m not sure how that helped them, but there were reasons why China was starving.

The Maoist killed 70,000,000 people manly by starvation. The same socialist utopia envisioned by our dear leader.
On that basis…. there must be a lot of starvation in the USA ;^)
My mum used to say “Don’t leave that, there’s starving children in Africa that could have had it”
To which I replied “Well send it to them then!”
I have traveled to China several times and have friends there. They tell me they were told to eat all their food because of the starving children in the US. (This would be the one-child generation)
