The alarmists need to move on to something else, like record number of nice days.
You should have posted a pic of brass monkeys……
This is perfectly applicable but you’ll get the gist …. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=monkey+board+meeting&docid=4738247767689721&mid=0E5AA5BD6FC34E4191B00E5AA5BD6FC34E4191B0&view=detail&FORM=VIRE1#view=detail&mid=0E5AA5BD6FC34E4191B00E5AA5BD6FC34E4191B0
That photo is a little fuzzy, but I think it’s Mann, the train engineer, and Homer.
Alarmist response will be:
“Look at the volume, the volume, only the volume is important!!”
They will completely forget that a 50% increase in area times average thickness means a 50% increase in volume. They must be all arts students cos they failed maths and science let alone physics!
It looks like the arctic ice formation is accelerating. Like a hockey stick?
Todays extent looks to be 8 million 2013 vs 5 million in 2012 or 60% more!!!

According to Professor Peter Wadhams there will be no ice in 2016.
I bet he’s alarmed, but at least when he fails he will have lost credibility.
Here are the current arctic buoy locations and air temperatures. Looks pretty nippy for mid-October.
