Yesterday on WTOP they said the low temperature in outlying areas would be in the 50’s and mid-60’s in DC. This is impossible, because NOAA says UHI is only 0.1 degrees.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Tony’s AC has finally arrived…
Tony,
Can you get your brother “climate scientists” to explain where the heat goes when air conditioning units are running full-blast? Their motors produce heat, they run off electricity, and the last time I was around a running air conditioning unit on a high-rise the temperature near the unit read 130 degrees, “danger hot” for working on the rooftop (the “regular temperature” according to the weather station was only 98 degrees, the inside temperatures ranged from 65 to 80 depending, and I didn’t even try to measure the temperatures inside the fan rooms in the sub basement!). All those btu’s go someplace. UHI effects of 0.1?
Yes, UHI effects of 0.1 ESPECIALLY when the weather station is next to the A/C unit.

Back in a more naive version of myself, I was appalled to see how bad many of the stations were when checked by the Watts Surface Station Project. Then, when the CAGW crowd claimed that they could just adjust away the errors, that’s when the little bell went off in my head. That’s when I knew that the so-called “climatologists” were not just doing bad science, they were liars.
UHI will be 0.1 after those obviously anomalous raw readings are properly homogenized.
That is too funny. It’s always 10 degrees colder in the outlying areas.
I never get tired of referring to the attached link from Steve McIntyres blog; Climateaudit.org.
http://climateaudit.org/2007/08/04/1859/
Tom Peterson, Principle Scientist with NOAA attempts to show that UHI is insignificant. Steve McIntyre takes Petersons data and turns it around, in an easily understood way, to show that UHI is significant in the land based temperature record.
NOAA uses Tom Petersons study to justify not making any negative adjustments to their temperature record for UHI. And, I believe, that GISS only adjusts for UHI by about .1 degree using a “lights” algorithm where they use night time satellite photos to determine UHI using light intensity from different cities.
Not one of the temperature record organizations, telling us that we are in the throes of CAGW, has ever done a proper UHI survey to confirm their (lack of) adjustments.
After forming the United Nations on 24 Oct 1945, frightened world leaders hired “scientists” to hide REALITY.
Insanity is loss of contact with REALITY – the Creator, Destroyer and Sustainer of every atom, life and world in the Solar System:

Frankly, “Big Brother bit off far more than he can chew !”
Ah, Tony, you’ve been caught be the recent change over to the new “climetric” system to measure temperature.
10F = 0.1 new C
And it’s a sliding scale where “normal” is always the zero point.
Simple solution to a basic error!
In fact I’m 99% certain it was invented by Al Gore, which I understand is close enough.
Didn’t also invent the Internet, pants and rocket science?
damn,..I too join the long list of WP haters…
That should be…
Didn’t HE also invent…
Just where NOAA get their figures from is unclear, because even without allowing for poorly sited measuring stations, this is what NASA had to say in 2009:
Scientists first discovered the heat island effect in the 1800s when they observed cities growing warmer than surrounding rural areas, particularly in summer. Urban surfaces of asphalt, concrete, and other materials — also referred to as “impervious surfaces” — absorb more solar radiation by day. At night, much of that heat is given up to the urban air, creating a warm bubble over a city that can be as much as 1 to 3°C (2 to 5°F) higher than temperatures in surrounding rural areas.

I’ve saved that page, you never know…
Ever hear of a proctological exam?
Well, I think that to be a NOAA ‘scientist’ it’s mandatory to take several basic proctology courses…
Proctologist get thee behind ye!
