We won!
SJR-19 fell short of the 60 votes it needed to advance a key Senate vote yesterday, and was defeated 54 yays to 42 nays.
This happened because of your activism, your phone calls, and the tens of thousands of petitions you signed against Harry Reid and this anti-gun and anti-free speech Constitutional amendment.
We not only won, we blew this attempt to silence us out of the water.
This is great news, because earlier in the week 79 Senators voted for it the first time, including several Republicans who “voted for it, before they voted against it”.
After being bombarded with your Emergency Fax Petitions, every single Republican backed off.
Capitol Hill sources say that for the moment, this is likely to be the last vote on this proposal.
If that changes, we’ll let you know right away.
Allow me to extend my personal thanks to you. This victory would not have been the case if it weren’t for your activism.
Remember, they wanted to silence gun owners, so that we can’t organize to hold them accountable for their anti-gun voting records.
Unfortunately, 49 Democrats including Kay Hagan (D-NC), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Mark Begich (D-AK), Mark Udall (D-CO), and Mark Pryor (D-AR) voted to shut you up.These gun-grabbers also voted for all or parts of Barack Obama’s anti-gun agenda last year.
Now it’s our turn to hold them accountable for voting against your gun rights and voting to REPEAL parts of the Bill of Rights.
If you’d like to help NAGR hold anti-gunners accountable for voting against the Constitution, please consider making a donation of $100, $50, or even just $25 today. The midterms are just around the corner, and we’re going to need all the help we can get to inform as many liberty-loving patriots of where their elected officials stand as possible.
It’s crucial that they hear your voice louder and clearer than our anti-gun enemies.
Together, you and I can send a loud message to Congress to stop voting to restrict our freedoms!
Please, consider making a generous contribution today. And thank you again for making this victory possible.
For Freedom,
Dudley Brown
PresidentP.S. We won!
Harry Reid’s attempt to muzzle gun owners was defeated because of your activism, your phone calls, and the tens of thousands of petitions you signed.
Now it’s our turn to hold the anti-gun politicians accountable for voting against our Constitutional rights.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

This sort of thing is scary…..it should have never come up for a vote in the first place
So true.
That’s good, but everyone thought the ACA was DOA when Scott Brown was elected, too. The pro(re)gressives never quit. Usque saeculis vigilem
This was a great piece of strategy, for once, out of the Republicans. Reid didn’t expect the minority to let him get a floor vote, but they did and now 52 Democrats in the Senate are on the record as wanting to curtail the 1st Amendment. The problem, as always, is that the press will not report this accurately. While I appreciate NAGR and what they do there was never any fear of the Republicans supporting this amendment anyway. The votes they made were for cloture, the procedural issue to allow it to move forward for a vote… knowing full well that it could not possibly get the 67 votes necessary to pass and even if it did, it was DOA in the House. This was all about symbolism. Reid wanted to have the Republicans stop the vote so that he could call them obstructionists… oops, didn’t work that way.
But 52 Democrats are now on record wanting to take away free speech rights of Americans. With Obama around their necks, that should help swing some more votes away from the Dems in November.
Dumb luck. They have oatmeal for brains, most of them.
So why not just let corporations vote? And why not just change the system so that you (and corporations) get exactly as many votes as you and they have dollars of net worth? That should work just fine, right? Husbands and wives would each get half the marital asset net worth in dollar votes. Boards of Directors would vote the shares of Corporations’ dollar votes. It would keep those pesky po’ folk from having any real voting power. “Take away free speech rights for Americans.” Ya, shore, what a laugh.
Warning Will Robinson!!!! Dumbass detected!!!
You are describing the current system as it actually works.
No representation without taxation. Sounds good to me. It would keep the non-productive leeches from voting to confiscate productive peoples’ fruit of their labors.
I demand the right to bear arms, and deer arms, and coon arms, and possum arms
Sounds like a roll call of lame-duck senators who know they’re going to be defeated in November. Well, Udall could maybe survive it (more than just the haze is purple in Colorado lately), but the voters of North Carolina giving Hagan a pass?
Not this North Carolina Voter and I will be putting her under a microscope and passing along all the dirt to my fellow North Carolinians.
Brilliant strategy of the Koch brothers and other billionaires who can now buy elections thanks to citizens united. Get Joe Sixpack to think SJR was about taking his guns away, when it was really about limiting corporations from buying politicians.
yea, the Koch Brothers must have bought Obama’s election, twice.
My point is that it had nothing to do with guns, but just mention guns and the dittoheads are up in arms, this time to continue to allow the rich to buy elections. Remember, it would stop Soros too.
Stop straußing, Bob. Did you read your own argument in the context of what was said?
My point is that you can’t trust Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi to tell the truth about anything, ever.
Did the Koch brothers buy your Congressman, Bob?
How much did he go for? Should we pass the cup to help you buy him back?
…because “corporations” are some liberal Bogeyman, and not inanimate entities run by people.
Anytime liberals want to start amending the Constitution, I start worrying. (Heck, anytime anyone wants to start amending the Constitution, I start worrying – unless it’s an effort to repeal other amendments that are destroying our republic, such as direct election of senators via the 17th amendment, or federal taxation of individual income via the sixteenth amendment.)
I have no idea why they think they should have to amend what they have defined and treated as “a living breathing document”. They can just ignore the parts they want as they have in the past.
And even if the parchment stops breathing on them, they can divine what’s needed from the shadows and outgassings of the text. They call them penumbras and emanations and I understand there are volumes of Progressive jurisprudence hidden in it.
The wild state of affairs is frightening, both here at home and abroad, mostly due to the fact of our leaders lacking nads.
The current world wide threats can only be met with effective results through issuing RFP’s (Request For Proposals), which is the business end of all deals.
When Germany, France, USA, Sweden, etc.. issue an RFP to see who has the experience, best technical approach and costs to eliminate issues such as ISIS, Hezbolah, etc.., then we will be able to deal with problems sanely and effectively.
Many nations of our planet have politicians in charge, who are incapable of dealing with the ugly side of mankind, so the clear answer is issuing RFP’s to those capable of taking care of BUSINESS.
The RFP could be titled “Snuf Em and How” or Switch Off Required or similar references, but the fact remains, The Free Market Works Wherever You Need It to!
Best Regards,
Chewer;-)
Obama is the pettiest little coward to have ever inhabited the WH I believe.
