NASA Antarctic Temperature Fraud

In 2005, NASA showed that Antarctica had been strongly cooling for 20 years

Gavin Schmidt (current GISS head) reported that Antarctica temperatures “decreased significantly”

While most of the Earth warmed rapidly during recent decades, surface temperatures decreased significantly over most of Antarctica.

But that story wan’t going to scare anyone into giving up their money, so in 2007 they simply changed Antarctica’s history from cooling to warming.

Reblogged this on Centinel2012 and commented:
So than the colder it gets the more it has warmed than — makes perfect sense in today’s progressive world!

  2. David A says:

Perhaps prior to 2006 Gavin kept taking the thermometer readings at the wrong time. (sarc)

  3. David A says:

Other then the questionable TOB, it would appear a LOT easier to get false warm readings.

  4. Edmonton Al says:

Why is it not possible to get the NASA people respnsible for these tamperings called up onto the proverbial carpet to explain themselves???

    • Jason Calley says:

      Hey Edmonton Al!

Why? Because the people who have the authority to call them up onto the carpet are the same people who are demanding that they tamper with the numbers.

On a more theoretic level, in order for a system to be stable, it needs some type of negative feedback. When something goes too far one way, an opposite push shoves it back toward the original state. Our political (and economic) system is broken. The negative feedback is not only missing in many cases, it has actually become a positive feedback. I am sure that you can think of multiple examples without even trying hard.

      • I think the short answer to the question is: because in Antarctica, they’re not just lying with a red Crayola crayon or computer airbrush tool. Rather they are using statistics to turn a small handful of cooling stations into an “estimate” of continent-wide warming. They obviously are using their statistical tools incorrectly. And it is overwhelmingly likely that they are doing so with intent to defraud. However, getting members of Congress to state publicly that it is deliberate fraud is hard when none of them can understand the statistical tools that were used, let alone how they were misused.

Remember, if they’re going to do this without the help of any supporting testimony from American scientists (to the effect that “this really can’t be an accident or stupidity, it has to be fraud”), they’re really going out on a limb, and they have got to be able to explain to their constituents the statistical methods used and how exactly they can be misused to turn a negative into a positive over millions of square miles without adding any new data. Can you explain it, Al (or Jason!), and can you do so in a way that they will be able to understand and repeat it to the average voter intelligibly?

If so, perhaps we can arrange a meeting with one or more House members. An Albertan, while not ideal for this purpose, is better than nothing. And right now, nothing is probably what they have in the way of people who will take the time to educate them. We’re not talking about the best and brightest here, we’re talking (for the most part) about folks who went to Congress because they couldn’t hack it in a more respectable profession.

I would also point out that after the November election, I expect the new House to be more amenable to this, and it might be a good idea to hold off until then. But for anyone who wants to make an issue out of this starting on November 5, now is a good time to prepare and plan!

Shrinking Antarctic Ice Is Destroying Gravity Itself!!!!

Gravity—yes, gravity—is the latest victim of climate change in Antarctica. That’s the stunning conclusion announced Friday by the European Space Agency.

“The loss of ice from West Antarctica between 2009 and 2012 caused a dip in the gravity field over the region,” writes the ESA, whose GOCE satellite measured the change. Apparently, melting billions of tons of ice year after year has implications that would make even Isaac Newton blanch. …

The biggest implication is the new measurements confirm global warming is changing the Antarctic in fundamental ways. Earlier this year, a separate team of scientists announced that major West Antarctic glaciers have begun an “unstoppable” “collapse,” committing global sea levels to a rise of several meters over the next few hundred years. …

Current best estimates show that global seas could be as much as 50 inches higher by century’s end, due in large part to ice melt in West Antarctica…

And people believe this utter rubbish!?!!

    • Phil Jones says:

Did the GOCE Satellite detect the huge fart I just ripped?

Amazing, gravity shift AND an earthquake out here in CA… My own Climate Disruption!!

Yep… All predictions are now… “By century’s end”… Or “by 2100…”… Yep getting smarter, more daft in their arrogant, meaningless predictions.

    • rishrac says:

I remember an argument that the interior of Antarctica was getting colder because of the warming was causing the winds around Antarctica were getting stronger, keeping the cold bottled up. That was 2008/ 2009.
