During the 1970’s climatologists were predicting a new ice age. Meteorologists said that climatologists had no idea what they were talking about.
Climatologists live off grant money, so their job is to make up scary stories to keep the money flowing.
And nothing has really changed since then except the massive growth in the pile of bull we have to endure from those that claim they can predict what the climate will be in the future.
I like John Kenneth Galbraith’s quote: “We have two classes of forecaster: those who don’t know and those who don’t know they don’t know”.
It is very clear who the “deniers” are now… those who have a social agenda and a financial stake in purporting the nonsense. The unsuspecting masses (like those who showed up in NYC this week) are clueless about the science and lap up all the alarmist hogwash.
They are clueless and they do lap up hogwash but calling the New York marchers “unsuspecting masses” is whitewash.

CW I think Linnaean taxonomy is closer. The are all in the same Order or Family depending on how you subdivide out the Marxists and Anarchists. But definitely all in the same Class… none.

The ads I saw were $50 for the day… so they certainly aren’t doing that $10/hr or $15/hr minimum wage they protest for.
The ad I saw in the 1980s to protest Seabrook Nuclear plant was $10/hr.
Supply and demand? Lots of unemployed just graduated and older folks tossed out of a job so the company doesn’t have to pay a pension.
