Congressional Republicans Want To Curl Up On The Love Seat With Nancy

Republicans are trying to find solutions of their own to climate change instead of just attacking President Obama’s environmental policies, but the party hasn’t been able to agree on specific plans or policies.

Now in control of Congress, some Republicans are beginning to think that simply throwing bombs at the Environmental Protection Agency and Obama’s regulations won’t work any longer, staffers on Capitol Hill say. Instead, they believe they must develop their own ideas on how to combat climate change, especially to help moderate GOP senators up for re-election in 2016. Nine Senate Republicans are on the ballot in states Obama carried at least once, and House districts that were safe in midterm races likely will be tighter in the general election.

GOP looks to take a position on climate change, but how? | WashingtonExaminer.com

That strategy worked really well for Newt.

Oh dear! When will both parties realize that there’s no appeasing the greens? One step is never enough. Give them an inch and they’ll want a mile.

    • Gail Combs says:

When will they realize that the Greens are a small group well funded by enemies of this country and the common folk NOW KNOW IT.

When will they realize that is why we elected them to Congress just now.

When will they realize that if the Republican party does not start representing their voter base we just might have a USA-IP revolution like they are having in the UK.

The Tea Party should have been their wake-up call but instead they are doing all they can to stomp it into the ground.

19% Think Federal Government Has Consent of the Governed

53% Think Neither Political Party Represents the American People

59% of GOP Voters Say Republicans in Congress Out of Touch with Party’s Base

72% Think It Would Be Better if Most in Congress Are Not Reelected

I would call those polls a GIANT vote of now confidence in the Federal Government.

December 07, 2009: Tea Party Tops GOP on Three-Way Generic Ballot

Monday, national polling agency Rasmussen released findings that suggested GOP candidates for Congress may be better off running as Tea Party candidates. Unaffiliated voters like the Tea Party. Conservative voters like the Tea Party. Even Republican voters are nearly split in their preference between Tea and GOP….

So the Democrats and the controlled opposition party, the Republicans, responding by bashing the heck out of the Tea Party.

For example the Blair-Rockefeller Poll (Clinton School of Public Service) “On the heels of the 2010 mid-term elections, the Diane D. Blair Center of Southern Politics and Society, together with the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, conducted a comprehensive national poll of political attitudes and behaviors….”

That poll came up with a result that the Tea Party is Racist based on questions that start with:
“Do you think it is the responsibility of the federal government to make sure that minorities have…” and when you get the obvious answer –” No,the Tea Party wants a small federal government so leave that to the states” The report uses the totally false screaming headline Tea Party Distinguished by Racial Views and Fear of the Future and the MSM, not doing even the quickest check on the poll took the ball and ran.

The result of this flagrant misrepresentation of an up and coming third party?
October 15, 2014 Tea Party Is Still Most Toxic Political Label
So we now are back to two parties except that there are still 24% of the voters that dislike both parties. As is obvious by now I am one of them.
      Generic Congressional Ballot
      Date…. Dem …. GOP
      01-11-15 …. 38% …. 38%
      01-04-15 …. 40% …. 38%
      12-21-14 …. 39% …. 40%
      12-07-14 …. 40% …. 39%
      11-24-14 …. 39% …. 43%
      11-16-14 …. 41%…. 41%
      11-02-14 …. 41% …. 44%
      10-19-14 …. 41% …. 41%
      10-05-14 …. 41% …. 39%
      09-21-14 …. 40% …. 40%

If the Republican party is smart maybe they will listen to the people they represent or maybe they think they are close enough to the end game, the complete destruction of the USA as a sovereign nation and a world power, that they really do not give a sh!t any more.

I got a polling call by the Rep party. I told them I am definitely voting in the primary. After rating 8/10 horses very very unfavorable I told them if they continue to back candidates that are no different from dems then I will continue to vote 3rd party in the general.

Gail, I have a somewhat lengthy reply to you on ‘How to Think Like a Progressive”
For once, if have to disagree with you.

        • Gail Combs says:

          Darryl,
We are not that far apart. As a chemist I hate seeing such a valuable resource as petrochemicals burned and I very much agree that the way forward is nuclear. (With luck we will see Thorium in this country very soon.)

However the real never ending resource is man’s ingenuity. We can MAKE petrochemicals we can recover gold and other material directly from sea water…. All we need is access to cheap energy and the human mind.

The elite know this and want to limit mankind which is why they are targeting energy and education. The *&^$@# S.O.B.s

You might want to take a look at E.M. Smith’s There Is No Shortage of Stuff and Unlimiting Resources – Basalt for a High Tech Stone Age

        • darrylb says:

          Gail, OK, I agree.
The idea of using fission as an energy source to bypass the plant kingdom to produce petrochemicals would be feasible.
What people do not understand (and I know you do) is that most current renewable sources (wind, direct solar) do not store energy. Our means of storage has not changed much from the lead-acid battery over the last 100 years, so for instance transportation by electric cars will always have its limits, despite the willful wishing of a few.
Of course, the interesting factor would be the source of raw materials for the petrochemicals.
It may mean an unprecedented amount of CO2 in the atmosphere 🙂

Half of the 60 senate democrats that voted for Obamacare are no longer in office.

Even Tom Harkin now says, “We had the power to do it in a way that would have simplified … “So I look back and say we should have either done it the correct way or not done anything at all.”

    We told you so.

  6. Sean says:

The Newt and Nancy couch trip was in 2010 not 2012. In 2012 Newt had aspirations to become the presidential nominee of the Republican party. He regarded the PSA done with Nancy as one of the reasons he did so poorly in the primaries although with Newt, there are lots of skeletons that were issues. The Republicans won in 2014 because white, middle class blue collar workers voted for them. Climate change action feeds needs of the arrogance of the ruling class and I think even the Democrats have begun to realize its a losing issue with the voting public in all but a few states. Politicians of any flavor rarely understand science, but they know a dog of an issue when they see one.

    • rah says:

Sean says::Politicians of any flavor rarely understand science, but they know a dog of an issue when they see one.
      ———————————————————————————————
Man oh Man I certainly wish I could agree with you but I just don’s see it that way.
If that were true we would not have Obama Care.
If that were true long running climate scam would have died a long time ago.
If that were true the democrats would have dumped gun control long ago.
If that were true Michelle’s school lunch program would never had been implemented.

      • Gail Combs says:

        You are correct rah.

The International elite decide what action is going to be taken and the politicians and MSM work and work and work until they get the action implemented and the hell with what is good for the country or what the people actually want.

What most people do not understand is the Elite/Fabians are long range planners. They will take decades to get a plan implemented counting on the short attention span of the public and the constant drip drip drip of the MSM’s propaganda.

You can trace the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2011 all the way back to WWII. link
The Committee on Economic Development (a Milner Round Table, sister to CFR) decided just after WWII that a population of independent farmers was too difficult to govern and too difficult to extract wealth from so they had to be moved to cities and put to work in factories as a captive labor supply. (Free range slaves) In 1940 farmers made up 18% of the labor force, by 1990 farmers make up only 2.6% of the labor force and in the 1980s foreigners (Europeans and Japanese primarily) started buying up US farmland.

The final push to completely capture US farmland and the food supply is just beginning.

A little side note here. And why this trivia came to my mind just now I have no idea. You can trace the existence of SPAM back to 1937. Hormel hired a French chef to come up with a way to use pork shoulder because that cut was so tough to butcher for selling over the counter. SPAM (Shoulder Pork Ham) is what he came up with and it was a timely invention. During WW II SPAM, which in military nomenclature was termed “Luncheon meat” was served in mass quantities in all the services. It was about the only meat the Marines on Guadalcanal got for a couple of months. Tons and tons of the stuff were supplied to all the allies with the Russians getting a lot of the stuff and loving it. SPAM was almost as important as coffee for the Navy at times and the word was that the Navy could probably win a war without coffee but wouldn’t want to try. The crew on an Essex class Aircraft carrier would go through about a ton of the stuff in a week when in the combat zone. SPAM, Coffee, and Lemon Pie helped the US Navy win WW II.

        • We ate a can of UNRRA-labeled Spam in mid-1960s Europe. The 12 oz. can must have been 20 years old. It was still good.

“During World War II, of course, I ate my share of Spam along with millions of other soldiers. I’ll even confess to a few unkind remarks about it—uttered during the strain of battle, you understand. But as former Commander-in-Chief, I believe I can still officially forgive you your only sin: sending us so much of it.”

I left the war with a pink slip in my hand
It was back to the kitchen, till
Hormel gave me a chance. He said
“Military ladies, come and drum for me”
“Military ladies, find out what we can be”

We were a 60 service girls drum and bugle corps
JC Hormel thought we could do some more
          The drummers learned to dance,
Then the new girls tried out, and he gave them a chance, he said
“You can perform and sell door to door”

      • gofer says:

“The prospect of legislation that would put a price on carbon emissions and allot certain amounts to certain companies set off a feeding frenzy among large companies to show support for a “green agenda,” because such allotments would be worth tens of billions of dollars. That is why companies hired some 2,500 lobbyists in 2009 to deepen their involvement in “climate change.” At the very least, such involvement profits them by making them into privileged collectors of carbon taxes. Any “green jobs” thus created are by definition creatures of subsidies — that is, of privilege. What effect creating such privileges may have on “global warming” is debatable. But it surely increases the number of people dependent on the ruling class, and teaches Americans that satisfying that class is a surer way of making a living than producing goods and services that people want to buy.”
