Maybe Start With Something Smaller, Like A Bowling Ball?

President Barack Obama is unable to control a bowling ball, yet believes he controls the planet.

“I refuse to condemn your generation and future generations to a planet that’s beyond fixing.”

President Barack Obama, June 25, 2013

They used to keep people like that in rubber rooms, but now they put them in charge of the world’s largest military.

We feel the same way… which is why we have to rid the world of Socialists.

    • I’m a socialist, and I resemble that remark.

      • Mike says:

If that’s true, you are exhibiting a sense of self awareness rare to those whose longing is to control others. Might I suggest a career in politics…

        • Gail Combs says:

          Not so rare.

Richard S Courtney, seen over at WUWT has his head screwed on correctly and so does Rosa Koire who call herself a flaming liberal. See Her Presentation to a Tea Party Meeting

As far as I am concerned the left/right divide is just that a means to divide the ordinary people and keep them fighting among themselves so they do not notice the third much smaller group who is in power and stealing from all of us. The race card has the same purpose.

I happen to agree with you and have hundreds of posts pointing exactly this out. However…

I suggest to you, as I do everyone I meet, that they check their premises.

The Socialist Left’s entire body of thought is built upon the idea that the sheep must be led. And those that adhere to this ideology never count themselves among the sheep.

The Socialist Right’s entire body of thought is the same… they just pose as believers in Natural Law and Enlightenment Philosophy in order to get votes. Once elected, they quickly fall into their Fascist ways.

It’s exactly the Force we allow to Government which in turn allows Corporation be bad actors. It is Government which controls those Corporations through taxes and regulations etc. Remove the power of Government to lend it’s ability to Force to the Corporation and you remove the interest the Corporation have in Government. There is no other solution… except to give up and allow them to do whatever they want, forever, and just sit around being mad about ‘unfair’ it is.

It’s the foundation, or underlying governing theory, which is most important when discussing Anything… and sadly, the most neglected. I find this particularly true of those who have excelled within a specific fields such as sciences. It could be the Halo Effect, it could just be intellectual laziness. It could also be that even the ‘smartest’ among us fall victim to Other’s intentional effort to keep them confused, and thus useful.

Whatever it is, the governing ideologies of Socialism (and all it’s variants such as Fascism… what everybody today seems to think is Capitalism…) and Free-Market Capitalism are mutually exclusive. This fact becomes obvious if one takes the time, and makes the effort, to understand them from the ground up.

I do not take the labels of ‘Left’, ‘Right’, ‘Liberal’, ‘Conservative’ etc. etc. lightly. Words have meaning. It’s time to get back to caring about what those words mean.

Finally, it’s not a “third much smaller group” who is stealing from us. It’s a massive group from both sides of the aisle, as well as an ever growing segment of the public, which steal from us. It is a much smaller group who profess… profess… to want to change that model.

          We’ll see.

        • Remove the power of Government … and you remove the interest the Corporation have in Government. There is no other solution…

True, but it’s not just “corporations” which are after all just associations of men. Decrease the power of government—the power of the purse and the power of regulations—and you decrease the interest greedy and ambitious men have in using government for their goals.

There is no other choice. Greed and ambition cannot be detached from man and bad things will still happen, but less often and less deadly than in our experience with powerful state actors in modern times.

Individuals are not saints. We are all sinners but we have conscience. Despite our flaws, most of us aspire to do good in our private and public lives. These aspirations are the true foundation of a civil society.

I do not take the labels of ‘Left’, ‘Right’, ‘Liberal’, ‘Conservative’ etc. etc. lightly. Words have meaning. It’s time to get back to caring about what those words mean.

Exactly. Labels are words. Without reasonably established and commonly understood meanings of words, the whole concept of language is moot. Without language there is no speech and without speech among individuals we become just masses to be manipulated and controlled, not unlike a herd of cattle.

That is the reason for the totalitarian assault on language. George Orwell and others understood this well.

Mike, this is the group I am talking about:
“… In many countries the distribution of income has become more unequal, and the top earners’ share of income in particular has risen dramatically. In the United States the share of the top 1 percent has close to tripled over the past three decades, now accounting for about 20 percent of total U.S. income (Alvaredo and others, 2012)…” ~ IMF report

Those numbers are the people I mean:

          This is the core problem:
“Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create deposits, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of Bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create deposits.” — SIR JOSIAH STAMP, (President of the Bank of England in the 1920’s, the second richest man in Britain):

“However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in.”

So who exactly does the taking… and what a powerful ability that would be.

Given these comments… and aside from your implied desire to create a brand new class of tyrant…

I would suggest you might glance through:

Hannah Arendt – The Origins of Totalitarianism

          and

Hernando De Soto – The Mystery of Capital. (He is a Socialist BTW)

Arendt for the anti-semitism connected to hating the banks. (…he (Sir Stamp) had been a founder member of the Anglo-German Fellowship[11] and had made low key visits to Nuremberg in 1936 (when he met Adolf Hitler – whom Stamp noted was a “statesman and demagogue combined” – and Franz von Papen), and 1937, to view the Nazi Party Congress with the unspoken support of the then Foreign Secretary Lord Halifax. – courtesy of wiki)

And De Soto for why banks have facilitated the greatest increase in the standard of living within shortest period of time in human history.

You might also want to know what Capitalism actually is. Try Von Mises, Hayek, Friedman (Milton), Rand, Rothbard, Smith, anon.

We can hate the banks as we might hate our families… it doesn’t mean we would be better off without them. Even rich guys, just like scientists, can be wrong.

Looks Like our Green Troll maybe having a bit if trouble with his beloved Wind Turbines over there in the UK.

Severe weather warnings as 90mph winds forecast to hit UK
Powerful 250mph jet stream and two Atlantic “weather bombs” will see UK battered by severe gales this weekend

….Forecasters said that two Atlantic storms would rapidly deepen – in a phenomenon known as explosive cyclogenesis or a weather bomb – and pass just to the north of the UK.

“Northern Scotland is likely to see the strongest winds as the storms pass by on Friday and Saturday, with gusts of up to 90mph or more possible in the most exposed regions,” the Met Office said….

Friday’s severe weather warnings for wind cover almost all of Scotland and the northern part of Northern Ireland, while Saturday’s warnings also extend south to cover the northern half of England and northern parts of Wales.

The most severe alerts, covering the northern part of Scotland, warn of possible “structural damage” and large waves that may cause “dangerous conditions along some coasts”.

I wonder how many wind turbines will be left standing on Monday?

  3. It is a delusional statement. But I think he isn’t that stupid. The statement is intended to delude the audience.
You have to be pretty damn righteous to be saving the world, for the children no less.

  4. “I refuse to condemn your generation and future generations to a planet that’s beyond fixing.”

That’s some Grade-A gobbletygook. Is he planning on moving people to Mars?

Forget about it. The liberal progressive view is so skewed they can’t fix anything because they can’t even identify the problems. Take this attack in France and see what Howard Dean a former Democrat presidential candidate and Chair of the DNC has to say about it.

Howard Dean: ‘Don’t Call Paris Shooters ‘Muslim Terrorists’. http://newsbusters.org/

So Muslims target a publication because it published a couple cartoons lampooning Mohamed. They murder five people plus two Gendarme execution style while yelling “Allah Akbar”. As they withdraw after their attack one is heard saying “The Prophet has been avenged”.

But Howard Dean says it’s a “cult” having nothing to do with religion. Dean is the one in a cult. A cult of delusional denial that includes many liberals/progressives and which the current Administration is leading.

Oh and Dean is surprised that in a country with strict gun control the attackers had AKs? So typical of leftists when reality proves without a doubt their world view is terribly mistaken. These people continually fail to even accomplish the first step of the problem solving process. Correctly identify the problem.
