It Has Nothing To Do With CO2

President Obama just agreed to let China increase their CO2 emissions until the year 2030, which will put them at 500% of US levels.

If whatever he is doing was based on concern about CO2 and climate, he obviously would not have agreed to that.

Yet the alarmists say “we” (the developed world) are not doing enough.
We would have to reduce our CO2 emissions to zero to keep them happy.

    • I. Lou Minotti says:

Isn’t that the grander plan? “Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?” ~Maurice Strong, former UN Undersecretary now living in exile in Beijing, China after the Tonsung Park/Iraq Oil for Food fiasco.

    • Snowleopard says:

Of course that is the plan. A national suicide plan. Don’t forget that in order to reduce your emissions to zero you need to stop breathing.

  2. omanuel says:

You are exactly right. The AGW fable has absolutely nothing to do with CO2 or changes in Earth’s climate.

The current AGW fable, like the SHE (superheavy element) fable of 1975-85 and the NAG (neon alphabet game) of 1967-1980 are all about hiding the fact that world leaders are as powerless as the rest of us – every atom, life and world in the solar system were produced – and are still controlled – by the pulsar in the core of the Sun.

SANTIAGO, Chile (TheBlaze/AP) — The Calbuco volcano erupted Wednesday for the first time in more than 42 years, billowing a huge ash cloud over a sparsely populated, mountainous area in southern Chile.

Though the dangerous eruption prompted evacuation of the 1,500 inhabitants of the nearby town of Ensenada, along with residents of two smaller communities, its visual effect was stunning.

    • Disillusioned says:

Why stop em; they’re heading in the right direction. Chile is a Socialist country, run by a coalition that includes the Communist Party of Chile.

If the U.S. Government would just renounce the U.S. Constitution, liberty and free market capitalism, and enough U.S. companies got under the government/corporatist umbrella, there’d be no need for such CO2 emissions agreements like we have with China.

      • Snowleopard says:

There must be a need because we are mostly there.

There are not any free markets in USA or anywhere, if there ever were. The Constitution and its illusory liberty are void where (almost everywhere) prohibited by (unconstitutional) law.

For example: Regulation (lawmaking by federal agency) is unconstitutional as are most of the agencies that do so. (BATFE, EPA, FDA, IRS, etcetera ad naseum)

Almost all of the Bill of Rights amendments are severely limited in practice

For example: Per the second amendment you have the right to keep and bear arms and that right “shall not be infringed”. Arms are the tools needed to make war. At the time this amendment was written private citizens owned field artillery and warships. Try it today. Per the amendment you should be able to buy a fully armed Abrams tank and keep it on your front lawn or mount anti aircraft cannon on your roof. I’m not saying these are good ideas, and few would want these arms, but they ARE constitutional.

I could go on but you get the idea.

        Free speech zones anyone?

          Beautiful. Well said, snowleopard!

Disillusionment bites. (But it is better than the alternative.)

    • Jack Dale says:

Human produce 135 times more CO2 than all volcanic activity; that volcanic activity has a net cooling effect.

  4. Sean Cash says:

Silly Denier… Its only US produced C02 that has an impact on AGW…

Just ask Obama… our CO2 has special properties that cause the warming.

And its also further proof, the US is cause of all the worlds problems

    • Disillusioned says:

Yeah, those “special properties”, like the U.S. Constitution, need to be curtailed.

    • KTM says:

And only Coal-related US CO2 at that.

If it’s natural gas related CO2 then the sky’s the limit, at least when it comes to power plants.

CO2 released from burning coal isn’t your garden variety molecule, it is truly malevolent and intent on wrecking the planet.

      • rah says:

As is that from burning gasoline and diesel. It’s that special kind of CO2 that can only be produced by human activity that counts. And that volcano in Chili? Well that’s not a problem. Even if the the ash darkens the surface of the snow and any glaciers around and thus decreases their albedo resulting in quicker melting thus causing an increased in sea level above the already “unprecedented” levels of rise we have. And that warm melted water will add a few more megatons of thermal energy to the ocean depths. And that melt water will be more acidic because of the tons of sulfur in it and thus decrease the oceans pH and cause bleaching of coral reefs there by helping to destroy one of the most important habitats on the planet. But never mind. I mean after all it wasn’t caused by human activity and so it doesn’t matter and isn’t even thought about by the alarmists. sigh! And just in case some idiot comes by [sarc].

        • Disillusioned says:

Chile is run by a coalition of national socialists and communists, with trade unions, university liberals, socialist student/youth organizations and the Roman Catholic Church as major pressure groups – all strong advocates of centralized government. So I don’t think CO2, no matter what the source – volcano, humans or alpaca farts – is going to be a front-push issue. Like China, they’ll get a pass; their government is close enough to what the globalists want. The Global Government and their MSM propagandists will leave them alone.

That is unless Chile has an American-type libertarian revolution and Tea Parties and free market capitalists start popping up everywhere opposing liberal fascism. Then the UN globalists will be down on Chile for CO2 violations in a New York millisecond.

The “social justice” movement within the Catholic church, was started in Central and South America. Where is the new Pope from?

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Bergoglio worked briefly as a chemical technician and nightclub bouncer before beginning seminary studies.

        • Gail Combs says:

As I was just saying Gator, the Roman Catholic Church during the middle ages was aligned with the Aristocracy (and sometimes at odds) telling the peons the Elite had the God Given RIGHT to rule over them. aka The Divine Right of Kings

The well-known French thinker, Michel Foucault (1926-84) argued that early-modern governments relied on the threat of painful physical punishment to enforce obedience. He contrasted this with modern regimes which marginalize those who dissent and make them feel guilty for anti-social conduct. His theory was arguably close to the opposite of the truth.

Early-modern governments had pathetically inadequate resources (in comparison with today) for directly regulating behavior. Early-modern English monarchs had no standing army (until the late seventeenth century), little paid bureaucracy or civil service, and very little money. [Enter the Fractional Reserve Banksters to the rescue stage left] (Modern governments control about 20% of the Gross Domestic Product; just before the English Civil War crown revenue peaked at about £900,000 – certainly less than 10% of GDP and probably more like 3%).

Early-modern governments had to rely mainly on persuasion rather than coercion. In the face of widespread opposition to government policy, regimes could do little.

The main way of instilling obedience, however, was propaganda. Through teaching, preaching and writing, the message was sent that sedition was morally wrong, un-Christian, and would result in divine retribution. Even those who escaped punishment in this life would burn in hell fire…. The theory of the Divine Right of Kings aimed at instilling obedience by explaining why all social ranks were religiously and morally obliged to obey their government.

The religious fervor awakened by the Reformation and Counter-Reformation provoked rebellion all over Europe. In England, both Roman Catholic and Puritan theorists justified disobedience, and even forcible resistance, to heretical governments that attacked the true religion…..

Gentlemen in the localities began to hire agents in London to send them letters containing news of the latest events in the Commons, at Court and abroad. These news letters were the precursors of the first newspapers, which began in the 1620s…..

The theory of the Divine Right of Kings was directed at convincing this literate and wealthy group that they should serve as royal officials, not try and seize power for themselves.

After the Glorious Revolution of 1688, the theory of the Divine Right of Kings lost almost all support in England. It was forcefully expounded in France by Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet (1627-1704) and survived until rendered irrelevant there by Enlightenment and Revolution.

With anti-religious Communism on one hand and Islam on the other, it looks like the Catholic Church decided to make a bid for it’s old place in the pecking order along side the secular rulers.

Pope Benedict XVI resigned in February 2013, becoming the first pope in centuries to step down from his post.. His father was a determined anti-Nazi,

…As a defense against the Nazi regime, Ratzinger threw himself into the Roman Catholic Church, “a citadel of truth and righteousness against the realm of atheism and deceit,” he wrote.

Ratzinger entered preparatory seminary in 1939. But he could not avoid the realities of the day. Ratzinger was briefly a member of the Hitler Youth in his early teens, after membership became mandatory in 1941….

“I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise.” He went on to state, “In today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of St. Peter and proclaim the gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me … For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom, I declare that I renounce the ministry of bishop of Rome, successor of St. Peter.”

Of course they were! They knew who had all the swords! Kings derived their right to rule from “God”, and the corrupt Catholic church was only too happy to have protection from the huns.

A match made in ‘Heaven’ or maybe some where a bit hotter —- And this has changed?

It is an age old formula. The shaman aligns with the Thugs on horseback. When the thugs conquer a tribe, there is a darn good reason to put ‘witches’ aka wisewomen to death along with the able boddied men. Can’t have any challenges to the authority of the head thug or the shaman. (You also do not want to end up poisoned.)

At present we have bigger fish to fry. I am no fan of the Pope, but at east he is not calling for literal Jihad.

The Greek roots of the term “Catholic” mean “according to (kata-) the whole (holos),” or more colloquially, “universal.”

          http://www.catholic.com/tracts/what-catholic-means

Thankfully (in some ways), Catholics are not “universal” in thought, like they once were. The Pope is less representative of the Catholic community than Obama is of Americans.

Most Catholics I know would be excommunicated from the church, if their “confessions” were made known.

WE THE PEOPLE, was not a font sizing mistake, and WE should never forget that.

  6. This question was recently censored on the Scientific American website….All I did was ask an apparently inconvenient question and quoted the methodology from the January 16, 2015 NASA article:

Why does the GISS model only use data from 1951 to 1980?

” The GISS analysis incorporates surface temperature measurements from 6,300 weather stations, ship- and buoy-based observations of sea surface temperatures, and temperature measurements from Antarctic research stations. This raw data is analyzed using an algorithm that takes into account the varied spacing of temperature stations around the globe and urban heating effects that could skew the calculation. The result is an estimate of the global average temperature difference from a baseline period of 1951 to 1980.”
