Minus 100F is the new +80F. Perfect weather for a walk.
True, if you know how. The Finns have a jobs program for ice walking instructors:

They have ice walking exams, too:

OK rah,
I expect your rod might be ready in any season.
Then again, for any us born before baby boomers
well, I have to wait for the season.
This should have been after the bass below.
Walking on ice, just wear ice cleats

When in doubt, follow the Finns. They are the only ones who beat Stalin and they’ve been hedging their bets on both poles. A department of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy established the Aboa research station in Antarctica so Finns can find jobs once Finland becomes too hot.
These jackasses should be horsewhipped for foisting such nonsense off as some sort of scientific study. And then shipped off to Antarctica.
So in over 100 years, the temperature of almost every place on earth has changed by so little the average person would be hard pressed to detect the change, and yet in 15 years miles of ice will melt, and farming will be possible in a place where the summer sun barely craws high enough to melt a snowflake, and for half the year does not rise at all.
And now Larry the Cable Guy gets in on the act: http://twitchy.com/2015/05/10/fear-mongering-and-political-bs-larry-the-cable-guy-dismantles-climate-change-argument-al-gore-photo/
This is great news! More warm water bass fishing!

My rod is ready!
Since you’re from Indiana, you’ll enjoy this. Back in 1990, while living in the Warsaw/Winona Lake area, my girlfriend from Fort Fun & I were plugging for bass one day on Mississinewa Lake SW of Wabash. Caught at least six 3-5 pounders between us on Jitterbugs, Hula Poppers and Rapalas. That was after we stopped plugging and started fishing.
Mississinewa is a reservoir that was formed by damming the Mississinewa River but I never had that kind of luck there. We have a place up on the Barbie Chain on Irish Lake further north. BTW the largest annual reenactment of a War of 1812 battle takes place on the original battlefield not far from that Reservoir every summer. http://www.mississinewa1812.com/
Ft. Fun? Ft. Wayne?
Indeed. Ft. Fun = Ft. Wayne. That’s what she called it, anyway. I came away inclined to agree.
A waitress I met in a restaurant there called it Fort Waste (she was from Florida).
Billy, I hear those Florida Bass transplants are worth every effort trying to catch ’em.

Rah, as far as I recall, I never fished the Barbie chain when I lived there. Always had moderate success on Big & Little Chapman, Syracuse, Tippecanoe & Wawasee, however. I made every effort to get on the local lakes when time permitted, but working a day job in Carlisle while attending grad school takes its recreational toll.
BTW, Indiana is one of the best-kept secrets in America.

Sorry for the interuption. Got called out to do a team run in NY and PA and just got in at 03:30 this morning.
Mom & Dad and an Uncle and Aunt took all their kids, including me, up to a cottage on Big Chapman for about five years running. It is where I taught myself to swim and where Dad taught me to fish and water ski. It is also where I first learned to play poker. Back then, about 50 years ago, there was one of those little road side amusement parks in the town of Webster. It as a treat to go there and drive the go-karts and jump on the ground level trampolines.
Now days I will still occasionally water ski or take a wave runner out but these days I find I enjoy puttering around in the 22 ft. pontoon with jack & coke in hand or teaching my grandchildren to swim, ski, fish and boat. I especially like to take it the pontoon out in the evening after dinner and enjoy the cooler night air and listen to the bullfrogs and then coming in a lighting a camp fire and just enjoy the evening. Best fireworks shows I’ve ever been to are put on every weekend of the 4th of July on Sechrist lake which is on the Barbie Chain. Putter over in the Pontoon and anchor in the lake and they put a great show on right over your head.
Pretty soon everyone on the Barbie chain will be required to hook into a sewer system they’re putting in. Gonna cost each resident in the neighborhood of $3,000 but it will be worth every penny. It would have already happened but as one would expect a minority group of residents are fighting it. Those lakes have a great natural cleaning system with good expanses of wetlands with reed and Lilly pads but the population on them has just become too much. Getting rid of the septic systems will result on the lakes clearing right up and get rid of the algae.
You’ll need a big bobber.
She looks different than gurlz I know.
Have I ever told you that I love largemouth bass fishing. You guys probably didn’t notice that she is stiff arming it to make the fish look bigger.
I like the anchor.
Sad. You’re looking at the fish?
Amen
There’s a fish?
This is OT but I thought some here may be interested because the effects of EMP weapons was a pretty hot topic on a string a while back:

Electronic Weapons: Seeking Safety From EMP In Cheyenne Mountain
Next Article ? PROCUREMENT: Too Greedy And Sloppy
May 10, 2015: The U.S. Department of Defense is spending nearly a billion dollars to upgrade the old U.S. Air Force base inside Cheyenne Mountain. Built in the early 1960s, this complex is literally inside a mountain and during the Cold War was the NORAD (North American Air Defense Command) headquarters, in large part because the base was considered very difficult to destroy, even with nuclear weapons. During the two decades after the Cold War ended (in 1991) the air defense system shrank and NORAD moved out to an underground facility at a nearby airbase. The new Space Command became the principal tenant in Cheyenne Mountain. But because of the fear of enemies using EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) weapons to destroy electronics many military organizations want to get some of their operations inside Cheyenne Mountain because this place was designed to be EMP proof and is still the most EMP proof military facility the United States has.
Since the 1950s it was known that the EMP put out by nuclear weapons could damage or destroy solid state (transistors and microelectronics) devices. Since the 1990s devices using high-powered microwave (HPM) devices have been developed to create focused EMP on demand without all the nuclear blast and radioactivity. The most commonly mentioned devise to generate HPM is the AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radars that are becoming standard equipment in modern warplanes. AESA is more reliable and, increasingly, no more expensive than the older mechanical (a small dish that moves around inside a dome) radar. AESA is also easier and cheaper to maintain, which makes a more expensive AESA cheaper, over its lifetime, than a cheaper (to buy) mechanically scanned radar. More and more nations (including China and Russia) are manufacturing AESA radars and equipping their ships and aircraft with this stuff. All these nations are also manufacturing or developing EMP “bombs” that could be used to sabotage military bases or civilian facilities. For a long time EMP was believed to be an unlikely threat because you needed a nuclear war to create EMP. Naturally the blast and radiation damage from the nukes was seen as more of a threat than EMP. But now that has changed.
China, Russia, North Korea and Iran already have lots of underground facilities for protection from all sorts of unpleasantness, including EMP. Thus Cheyenne Mountain is again becoming the major headquarters for the defense of North America (NORAD and Northcom).
Don’t let them forget their chicken-little-the-sky-is-falling predictions. Reminding us all of their frightening predictions (that never come true) should be enough to debunk their new alarmist rantings.
You’re the only one who regularly revisits their predictions.
Thanks, Tony.
I love -100 F followed by “feels like -100F.” No kidding?
Yeah. No wind chill adjustments needed. That’s cold.
This over the top hysteria represented in this article by itself should be enough to impeach the whole AGW hoax.
Another global warming expert in trouble:

Fraud. Filth. Disgusting behavior. All par for the course in climate science.
Besides Climategate, another story not being reported on at all by western media.
Turn off your TV.
Follows after his buddy, AlGore
“…..All that CO2 gas in the atmosphere,
Caused by us in our four wheel drives.
It will kill all our plants, it’s known for a fact,
It is threatening all of our lives.
The polar icecaps continue to grow,
As clear proof that the end is in sight.
We can stop all of this by paying plenty more taxes,
We know the politicians are right.
The scientists and media know what needs to be done
To protect the developing nations.
Solar powered wind turbines should be built by the score,
Bankrupting all future generations…..”

Australia is “currently in a tender process for a new ice breaker” to ferry all those global warming refugees to “the only place to live” …

Another one to add to the book of ironies according to the ‘science’ of climate change.
Yes, the best shock treatment for these Alarmists is to send them to Antarctica with another
scheduled “Ship Of Fools” . There is nothing like a harsh “reality check” …. the Southern Ocean is becoming Colder and only a Fraudster would state otherwise ! A World where Countries are needing to build bigger Ice Breakers is testament to that – the opposite of Global Warming !!
Further to the article Climatism linked, here is one in the today’s Australian newspaper (paywalled unfortunately):
Antarctic bases battle record ice
Strange how global warming seems to make things colder. It even could be imagined that…ah no I won’t complete this thought as it would be heresy against Gaia.
