We have had some here in Central Indiana, including flash flood warnings for a few areas around here last week. But we’re still a little dry and could use some more. Pretty good blow came through with last nights storms. Picked up sticks this morning that were blown there from the trees across the road to the west.
Way back in 1965, I climbed to the top of one of the mountains in southwestern Colorado and got stuck there for three days while a thunderstorm was stuck BELOW me in a canyon and this created a gigantic flood that washed out the train tracks where the steam engine I was going to use to get back to Silverton was gone.
Had to hike out the hard way.
Yes, the great Southwest where I grew up does the flood/drought thing all the time. I remember more than one epic flood and long drought there which is why I am so angry at all the newcomers (my family lived in Tucson on my mother’s side since the Civil War) who lived out West for less than 100 years, whining about droughts this cycle. Bah.
Obama and his minions will just change the narrative to say Flooding is caused by AGW. I can’t stand the Liar and Thief he has no integrity and no soul.

Of course we will. The big question is who will step into the Oval Office after “the one” leaves!
I’d say the biggest question is, When is a Congress that is now Republican in both chambers going to start accusing its own government “scientists”, whom they pay exorbitant salaries or fees, of data fraud?
Without that kind of congressional support, it is not credible that any of the Republican candidates for President, if they’re actually elected, will act on their own, lacking the support of both Congress and the courts, as well as the Executive Branch bureaucracy
With Congress on our side, this fight may be winnable. Without them, the odds against us approach infinity.
There is still a vast conspiracy behind the scenes to foist cap-and-tax on us. That will not go away without serious and concerted effort on our part. Every time we intimate that online commentary alone is sufficient to carry the day, they are laughing hysterically at us. We must wake up to the reality of the battle we still face, which certainly does not end with electing a conservative Republican to the presidency.
The only way a Republican majority in Congress will act in a conservative manner is when there is a Conservative in the WH that they feel will be there for a second term. All the congressional election wins help, but cannot offset the fact that there is the most “progressive” administration in this countries history in place.
So, sit around for a year and a half, and do no investigating, do not remove any criminals from office, do not accuse anyone of data fraud, do not call for reform, do not put any pressure publicly on any of the presidential candidates, do not try to educate the Republican voters so they will pick one of the few candidates who might actually be willing to go after the fraudsters?
Without correcting the fraud, the enemy wins eventually, no matter who gets elected.
How much are those clowns getting paid again?
Also, the courts could help us now, but will not because they know the Republican Congress of 2015 is siding with the alarmists on the question of CO2!
I must therefore reject your suggestion that it’s acceptable for them to sit around and not use the power of the purse or the power of expulsion of executive officers until 2017. That’s not how problems like this are normally handled, and the congressional leadership perfectly well knows it!! They are in LOCK STOCK AND BARREL for the Democrats on this issue.
That is what was going to happen no matter what. Obama is too well entrenched to hurt him personally politically. The man could literally probably get away with murder. The only thing to hope for until January 20th of 2017 is that this congress and the next will hold enough seats and will show the back bone to blunt what this Administration does. And of course hope the courts will blunt some of it also. But that is a long process and the lower courts are packed with democrats so every major issue has to make it’s long ponderous way to the SCOTUS.
The only other way would be a revolt by a considerable conglomeration of the states.

Look man, I hate this president and his administration on so many levels I can’t rationally express them all. He is well on the way to killing the Military that Reagan built. But I recognize this congress will not do what we want because the Republicans suffered a considerable back lash from going after Clinton. They know it and anyone that looks at the history should be able to see it. With their rather tenuous position right now I would be shocked to see them impeach anyone without 100 smoking guns. But I’m just stating the political reality the way I see it. I wish with all my heart that I’m wrong about it.
Well, that’s one way of looking at it, I suppose. I still think that going after scientists when there are all these smoking guns of fraud will not be perceived the same way as going after Clinton for perjury. Though for full disclosure, I was a strong supporter, and still am, of expelling him from the presidency on those charges.
I also think that if the R. leaders really are on our side on cap and tax, they at the very least wouldn’t have voted in January that “climate change is real” knowing that the context of that vote was that by “climate change” the resolution meant AGW.
Actually, my impression with that vote was that the Republican leaders and presidential candidates were trying to subtly warn or prepare us that they feel strongly about the issue and will not be acceding to our wishes in any meaningful way.
Here’s another way to look at it: we must act with strength when we know we’re right, prepared to accept whatever consequences may come from that. We must never allow the enemy to dictate or suggest our strategy to us, because they are very smart and will rope-a-dope us every time. Learning this is a part of becoming politically mature, which is necessary for political survival whenever the gloves come off.
It was not immediately clear to me why the water level spiked and receded over the course of each 24hour period. Then it occurred to me that it must be the snow melt speeds up with the sun’s heat.
That half foot difference is quite impressive.

Mike, most of the flooding will happen on the eastern side of the divide. Western divide snowpack is lower than normal and will not drive a refill of Lake Mead this year.

Unfortunately climate change has finally struck the PNW. Strawberry picking season opened the last week of may, when it usually comes the 2nd or even 3rd weeks of june. Strawberry farmers will soon feel the financial devestation that heavy and early crops bring.
I live in Nevada. I told my daughter last night that the weather is similar to the 70’s.
The Republican Party needs to concentrate on economic isssues, tax reform and all the fraud with the global warming scam. I know they need to excite their base on social issues, but those only drag them down among the mainstream voters. They have to find a way to dance around those issues. Reagan was great at it, gave them lip service, but never did enough about them to scare people.
