Pulling back the curtain, you will discover that AGW is the latest front in the 70 year advancement of advancement of “STALIN’S SCIENCE“
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10640850/STALINS_SCIENCE.pdf
This has nothing to do with Stalin.
Tony your dogs are more likely to start reciting poetry than omanuel is to stop his delusional rants 😉
He is somewhat harmless but perhaps the time has come to at least give him a time out.
I for one need to hear about Stalin’s science, neutron repulsion and the iron sun at least 14 times a day! I could not go on living without it.
🙂
Do you have a Mac version?
Elmer, I understand Tony developed the application on a Mac but hasn’t had time yet to put together a Mac OS distribution package.
I used the ‘replace the two files’ method, worked just fine. Kept all my downloaded data that way, which is a huge time saver. Thanks stevengoddard, now I have to go pull back some new curtains.
This is really fun to play with. Always been a fan of weather data.
Thanks again, Tony.
Hey Tony! I have been away for a bit, so I may have missed it, but is there a version of Pulling Back the Curtain for Linux? As always, thanks for all your hard work. You have really done something extraordinary!
I will release one at some point.
Jason, I’ve been able to get it running under Linux using wine. I installed wine 1.8, then installed Qt 5.5 for Windows under wine (there are several 5.5 versions available, I installed the open source version), and then installed Steve’s program. Works fine, no problems. Let me know if i can help you get it going.
Thanks. I’ll download the latest and replace my old version.
Hi Tony got v1.3. works fine. I’m here SoCal and noticed San Diego, LA and SF are not included in the data. Is there a reason for this. I know the one at Lindbergh field has been there a long time though UHI could be a real issue. Thanks and keep up the great work!
It is all of the USHCN stations. There aren’t any in those cities.
There aren’t any in those cities.
Well isn’t that just precious.
Everybody should hit the donate button.
In other news, Boulder Daily Camera reports we are all going to die.
Read the whole thing. There are some worrisome contributions in the comment section. One commenter, for example, is glad she is “closer to the other side” and has no children.
The prognosis for this patient is much worse than Drs. Meehl and Trenberth imagine. Her therapist would be well advised to complement his treatment methods with output from Version 1.4 but it may be too late for an effective intervention.

I’m not sure how it could be performed, Dr. Case. It would require turning the digital output into an analog input.
First chuckle of the day (-:
From the facial expressions…. looks more like a digital input to me. !!
You are right, Doctor. I suspected there could be another angle on this intervention but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
That BoulderNative fights a good fight.
There was a time in this country when it was considered ethical for a woman patient to visit the doctor to be digitally stimulated to orgasm. The practice was thought by some to be necessary for the health of the child bearing age woman who did not desire to get pregnant or was not married.
Thanks Tony, great stuff! Out of curiosity, how does the program handle missing data (TMAX or TMIN value of -9999)?
I ignore all missing or bogus looking values.
It is an interesting problem. Maybe put Good and Bogus value counters in the box with the Average, Minimum, and Maximum temperatures (and abbreviate Avg, Min, Max)? Or maybe just a % of values discarded? Or a separate graph line with % discarded values by year? It wouldn’t fix the problem but you might get a FUBAR factor to look at for a particular station.
SG, any idea what happened in 1977 on this one?

Just some missing data, perhaps.?
Data file seems to have a whole heap of zeros rather than -9999s. for the missing data.
Maybe something to look at.?
Probably missing data for that year
Must be fun trying cope with the massive amounts of missing and shoddy data in USHCN 😉
Vastly better than the data from the rest of the world.
The more that is missing, the more Gavin et al can fabricate !
Interesting grapf Days above 90F at Morrisville.

And to think the poor sod was having a fit over it …
He will love that “days over 90F” graph 😉
CW or anyone. What would be the closest USHCN site to Plattsburgh?
That’s on the list on SG’s app.
I think it’s South Hero, VT (44.6264, -73.3031).
There is also a nearby NY station down the shore from Plattsburgh in Peru, NY but it doesn’t show data. The South Hero station is over the state line in Vermont, about 8 miles east from Plattsburgh on Grand Isle in the middle of Lake Chaplain. It’s very rural. They say that even the local farms are organic and sustainable.

Errata: Lake Champlain
Went way up there to Plattsburgh, NY my first winter driving a truck. Picked up a preloaded trailer heavy with large rolls of paper from a paper mill up there one very cold early dark morning. The drop lot was dirt/mud. It had been muddy when they dropped that loaded trailer there and the feet pads of the landing gear had sunk about 4″ into the mud before it had frozen solid in the sub zero temps. I was afraid that if I backed under it I would tear those feet right off the bottom of the landing gear so I spent a good bit of time with my pry bar and a 3 lb hammer chiseling those feet loose before I backed under the trailer. One doesn’t forget those kind of things and so since that’s my only impression of the place other than the fact that the radio reception up there was so bad it convinced me to get satellite radio, I have no real desire to go back.
RAH, you may want to reconsider. If the winters in fact warmed up there, you could test how much easier it is to chisel the feet pads out of the frozen mud at -14°F instead of -15°F.
I saw an item headlined Glenwood Springs in the 2/15 Denver Post. Seems the area wildlife managers are concerned that the local owls, eagles, elk, assorted wild life in their personal charge are “scrounging” for forage due to the deep snow and need some supplemental feed. Why do (the royal) we presume to know what is best for nature? Feed them now so they can starve next fall? Is this the same snow our children would never see again? I maintain bird feeders in the front yard, does than make me a “wildlife manager?” Can I apply for a grant? Maybe instead of “climate scientists” the title should be “climate managers,” would make for higher pay grades.
Neoconservative aka warmists.
Regime change = repairing climate change
CPP = WMDs
Parallel story line.

America’s unlearned lesson: the forgotten truth about why we invaded Iraq
Lying about things is a known cause of excessive sweating.
That’s true when your talking about people that are generally honest and have a conscience. I don’t believe the current president has either of those traits though.
