Everywhere is warming up twice as fast as anywhere….

  2. Gator says:

So a small area in the Arctic has warmed more than the rest of the globe when we were told that the Arctic would warm the most.

Tell me. Is water still wet?

  3. GeologyJim says:

So much stupid in one short report.

Northern Sweden is near or above the Arctic Circle, so changes in snow cover/albedo are going to have roughly zero effect on solar heating in December or March.

No mention of century changes in numbers/locations of temperature stations

No mention of century changes in population and land-use near the long-term temperature sites

No curiosity about century-long ups/downs in either temp or CO2, nor about correlated patterns (for good reason – they likely don’t exist)

Move along – nothing to see here in the “low intellect zone”

Not surprising with all that hot air from Greta and her parents.

Tinier travel trade transport. Trips tabs table tips. Tearful Tunberg test takes tremendous tumble: Covid casualty chaos countervails current climate change catastrophe circus.

Usually, when I come to this blog, I get upset after reading it, due to all of the fabrication it exposes. However, in these strange times we are now in, it seems like an oasis of truth in the desert.

The NCAR graph from the 1970s clearly shows the 1930s were warmer, and the current NOAA/NASA graph is clearly altered, and the New York Times articles cited here clearly indicate the same. I used to find that disturbing, but now for some reason, I take comfort in someone calling it like it is.

It is like the only thing that is not a lie, is that we are clearly being lied to. And at least there is truth (cold comfort) in that. :(

Thanks for continuing to work in these difficult times!

Well Sweden is special isn’t it? I love the red to show huge temp changes of up to 1.8c so it must be true. This should give Cretin Dumberg to “how dare you” about.

Colour me skeptical, but they’ll need to get beyond maroon before I’ll worry. When they finally get the Vermillion crayon out, that’s the time to find another planet.

    Oh woe!

  8. Peter Carroll says:

Don’t we love the superlatives? This place is warming twice as fast as every other place that is warming. This ice is melting six times faster than that ice is melting. The sea level rise here is accelerating faster than the accelerating sea level rise there.

I know just what the professor is talking about. Last night I had focal global warming limited to a small spot in my kitchen. There was no doubt that it was related to the burning of fossil fuels. I cooked a steak in the affected area and feel fine but I have seen no other wildlife in the region for decades.

  13. Robert Austin says:

An explanation of why every (land) place is warming “twice as fast” as the global average is that the global average includes sea surface temperatures. Thus any land temperature set should warm faster than the global average. That does not excuse the dishonest use of this fact to make sensational headlines about a certain area warming “twice as fast” as the global average.

  14. CBG engineer says:

I live in Canada and like Sweden we claim warming twice as fast as the rest of the world. This caused me to look at our temperature records across the country. Most of the analysis appears to be biased from 1950 to present, ignoring the climate cycles and warmer decades from 1910 to 1940. Long term trends in the summer (July) average Tmax show only slight increases at a few locations and decreases at other cities, which is an indication that summers are NOT getting hotter. This is supported by summer days over 25 and 30 degrees C, which show similar trends. Warming is all in Tmin (at night) or Tmax in winter. Average temperature may be rising, but it is not getting hotter.

Don’t worry guys, the measuring station was moved to the local Jokkmokk Airport in year 2000. To a position not far from the tarmac. It fits very well to the alarmistic agenda of SMHI ( Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute).

  16. Morgan in Sweden says:

What is not mentioned here is how the wind pattern has changed over Scandinavia.
There is almost a persistent south/southwest wind blowing over Sweden (either from Africa or the central part of the Atlantic) and has been so for years. Occasionally we will have the wind blowing from the north, but it only lasts for a day or two, while the southern wind can stay the same for weeks. This is why Sweden looks so “warm”, but why mess with the facts, it will only destroy the narrative. Due to this the sun radiation over Sweden is now much higher than the 1960-1991 period. Basic Source is SMHI. All in Swedish, but just check the figures.

    • KWS says:

They moved the measurements to the local Jokkmokk airport in year 2000, close to the tarmac. It is as simple as that.

And is not Sweden part of the planet and therefore part of the overall temperature of the planet?
So if Sweden is grabbing the heat and warming then everywhere else must be cooling or at least not warming very much.
