12000 yrs ago the world was this warm… fake science is bad science

Tony, I’m sure you are aware of this but it might be of interest to your viewers. It a long read but not too full of scientific jargon. David Coe, the author, deliberately tried to keep the message as simple as possible. Even so, somebody asked for the message to be simplified so that children could understand it so I came up with this.

“CO2 and H2O are very good at absorbing heat that is radiated, or reflected from the Earth’s surface after the sun has heated it.The radiation of heat from the Earth has a waveband range, called a spectrum, of say 1-100 which can be calibrated by spectrum analysis gizmos. Part of this range can be picked up by CO2 and H2O and they absorb that part of the heat. That heat can then be transferred to nitrogen and Oxygen which make up the bulk of the atmosphere. This heats up the atmosphere which can reflect heat back to Earth. CO2 and H2O can only pick up part of this spectrum and they do it very well. The present levels of CO2 and H2O in the atmosphere do it so well that there is very little left after they’ve finished. They do it so well that adding more CO2 and H2O has very little effect. Its like mopping up water with blotting paper after you have spilt some. It works very well until the water has almost all gone and adding more blotting paper has little effect.”

I think I could have used a rainbow example rather than talking about spectrums but, apart from that, I’m fairly happy with it. I’m no scientist but I haven’t been corrected so far therefore my simple explanation would appear to be accurate.

I’ve taken this from the paper for reassurance. Shall I let Greta know?

“The “greenhouse effect” is dominated by the absorption spectrum of H2O with a little help from CO2. At current concentrations of both gases it is inconceivable that further increases in concentrations will lead to any significant warming. Increasing CO2 concentration to 3000ppm and doubling the mean H2O level to 2% would result in a global temperature increase of 3.4K.”

    • Richard says:

CO2 is not a warming gas- Al Gore got it wrong from his university professor who was using CO2 bubbles as a measuring tool from ice core samples
if you take a million square inches of atmosphere 80% is Nitrogen and 0.0004 per square inch is CO2 its that simple

      MYTH 7: CO2 is a pollutant.
FACT: This is absolutely not true. Nitrogen forms 80% of our atmosphere. We could not live in 100% nitrogen either. Carbon dioxide is no more a pollutant than nitrogen is. CO2 is essential to life on earth. It is necessary for plant growth since increased CO2 intake as a result of increased atmospheric concentration causes many trees and other plants to grow more vigorously

      • Michael+Abbott says:

Richard, did you read the link I posted? I’m no scientist but the thrust of the paper certainly fits in with what we have seen and are seeing. I’ll paraphrase what David Coe says below.

CO2 and to a larger extent water vapour has the capacity to be heated by a certain part of the heat radiation spectrum and this heat is then transferred to nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere to be radiated back to and away from the Earth. If we didn’t have this transfer the Earth would be unable to sustain life, too cold. David Coe then says that the radiation is limited and the CO2 and H2O have taken more or less all of it at the concentrations we see now and in the past so adding more CO2 and H2O t the atmosphere has very little effect.

I’d be very interested to hear from any physicist or similar who can either agree with Coe or disagree with him.

        • Mary says:

I’m not a physicist, but there seems to be evidence that the so-called “greenhouse effect” is actually the result of adiabatic pressure and not much to do with the absorptive capacities of atmospheric gasses, as explained in this video:

          • Michael+Abbott says:

Mary, I put the video out on another site and got this reply. You might be interested.

“I’m afraid that guy doesn’t really understand basic high school physics.
He confuses the one-time act of compression heating a gas with static pressure, which does not.
For example, as you actively compress air to pump up your car tire, you make the air hot. But when you come back tomorrow after letting the car sit overnight, the air in the tire is no longer hot.
If his analysis were correct, the air in the tire would stay hot indefinitely, which we know is absurd.
Another way of looking at this is that the active compression is a one-time transfer of energy to the gas, whether the tire or the planetary atmosphere. For the gas to stay at elevated temperatures requires an ongoing continuous power source.
The power of compression can be expressed as (right out of high school physics):
            Power = Force x Velocity
In the case of static pressure, the velocity is zero, so the power transfer is zero.
            Yes, it’s really that simple!”

Keep copies of these old articles, graphs, maps and photos in a safe place Tony. I’m sure there is (not will be) an attempt to purge them from the internet. Thanks for your efforts as always.

  4. Ron says:

Climate changes all the time and there are more Polar bears than ever before. People cherry pick information to suit an agenda.

  5. jb says:

“Wow. It looks like your SUV really messed up the climate of Svalgard”!!!!!

    Awesome, awesome line!

  6. arn says:

And it is incredible how many “catastrophies” have happened
in the last 30 years = nothing that didnt happen in all the years before.

    (ant)Arctic Sea Ice still there.
    Beaches still there.
    Islands still there.
    Polar Bears still there.
Tree line didnt get an iota closer to the poles
    etc etc.
Without the permanent AGW propaganda not a single person would
realise the global warming-because there is none.

    • Vegieman says:

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

      Jeremiah 5:21-23
