The End Of The Oceans

Five years ago, the Washington Post announced that the oceans would run out of oxygen due to global warming.

Global warming could deplete the oceans’ oxygen – with severe consequences – The Washington Post

The greatest expansion of life on earth occurred in the oceans 540 million years ago when CO2 was at its peak. Temperatures were 10C warmer. atmospheric CO2 levels were more than 15 times higher than they are now, and corals and shellfish evolved.

these tools keep using words that are “technically” accurate but practically are nonsense … 15.0145 is “warmer” than 15.0123 … but in the real world when we say the ocean is warmer, most normal humans mean its warmer to a degree that they can feel the difference … (also it obscures the fact that they simply can’t measure to the level of accuracy that they claim they can …)

  3. Jeff Ford says:

Tropical ocean life seems to be doing okay.

  4. James Henry says:

I get a kick out of the “simple physics” line. Most people would have at best a rudimentary understanding of physics. Throw the “simple” in front of physics and you’ll be sure to intimidate your audience so they don’t ask questions. If it’s simple, who would want to admit they don’t understand it?

Didn’t Christopher Mooney just explain why there is an increase in CO2 in the air and why CO2 is a following indicator of a warmer earth? With a simple example of opening a warm soda pop, invoking Henry’s law, a warmer ocean will release more oxygen but it will release more CO2 as well.
Mankind has reduced out put of CO2 during the lockdowns by over 8% yet NOAA has not been able to detect corresponding drop in CO2. They did take out the ludicrous claim that the forest fire had compensated for their inability to see a drop in CO2.

    • Russell Cook says:

Always remember, it’s THAT Chris Mooney, formerly at the propagandist website Desmogblog https://www.desmogblog.com/chris_mooney . The big whirring sound you hear over in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Washington, D.C. is the late Watergate-era Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee spinning in his grave over the label of “journalist” being given to Chris Mooney.

  6. BenV says:

Can’t help but love these idiots. By talking about how warm water holds less oxygen they also disprove ocean acidification. Because that warm water holds less CO2 too.

  7. John Barrett says:

So warm water also means less CO2. So, as oceans warm more, CO2 is released into the atmosphere. Thanks Chris for explaining that increasing atmospheric CO2 follows increasing temperature.

  8. DM says:

Warmer water temperatures also reduce the amount of CO2 contained in seawater. That effect caused much of the increase in atmospheric CO2 in recent decades.

not so sure on that one – before oil age 1870’s CO2 was approx 300PPM, so looking at world population then and now its only gone up 100PPM & recorded ocean temps of which we have no idea from 1870’s till 1990 were pretty much unknown until world wide temps were taken & proven ocean temps are not more then +- 4C for last 30 years

If oil is killing people (humans) why was the world population in 1870 approximately 1.2 billion worldwide to 7.7 billion in 2020 today at the beginning of oil usage.
In 1850 circa the death rate for kids under 5 was 45%+-, now not more than 5% in advanced countries. The average life expectancy was 45 in 1870’s. Now from 2000BC Egypt the life expectancy was 19, it took 3800 years for the life expectancy to increase 26 years.
With Oil now in use from say 1870 which is early, closer to widespread use from 1900 to 2020 the life expectancy went from 45 to 75 a total of 30 years added in less than 120 years?
World population in 1000 AD was 310,000,000
World population in 1850 AD was 1.2 Billion so 850 years go jump 1 billion
Time of Oil age population went from 1.2 Billion to 7.5 billion in 2020, less than 160+- years for population to jump 7 X’s faster

  9. G W Smith says:

“That’s simply physics,” says the left. Class dismissed. Students with questions will be sent to the principals office for detention.

    • paul courtney says:

Mr. Smith: “Detention” sounds too much like punishment. Sent to principals office for re-education sounds nicer, and they could build a camp to hold the inmates…..I mean residents who are not being punished. And if you mention that’s how N@zis did it, they will have you gassed.
