May 21 Arctic sea ice extent is higher than 1989, 1995, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Melt during the first 21 days of May has been third slowest on record.
