The Backup Scam

Without any evidence, academics have been claiming that increasing levels of CO2 are causing the oceans to acidify and dissolve corals.

This never made any sense because corals evolved when CO2 levels were fifteen times higher than now.

Measured data never provided any evidence in support of the scam.

I have been discussing the ocean acidification scam for a long time.  In 2009 a climate modeler told me :

“Global warming may be nonsense, but what we are doing is still good because of ocean acidification”

Who would have thought that the GBR, which has been around in more or less its present form for 18 million years, could not stand a changing climate. Ice Ages with large drops in sea levels, warm periods warmer than today, and much higher CO2 levels over that period couldn’t do it in. But we were supposed to believe that we are now killing it.

BTW it is not ocean acidification, it is a tiny bit of ocean neutralization.

I’ve always said OA was a complete fraud, designed exactly to back-up the temperature racket for times when temperature isn’t playing ball.

It magically appeared during the 2000’s when the Pause was up and coming. A support prop to go with polar ice, the Arctic, polar bears, ‘glacier collapse’, sea level rise, the Jet Stream and so on.

All marginal issues that are easy to exaggerate and not always easy to repudiate, even for experts. They’re flat-out impossible for the man in the street to falsify. Rather too handy, methinks.

Yes, no matter what the green Nazis say to us we know the Great Barrier Reef is healthier than ever, and they know it is healthier than ever, yet they continue to lie to us anyway.

Everything in the universe moves in cycles and waves. Nothing remains the same. Yet the green Nazis insist that reality should be rock solid, like when all is dead.

About the only people who fall for this are Progressives and kolej edjukaTED children.
Here in rural areas just say ‘It’s what we call Summer’ or whatever season it is.
I have found that rural folks are Street smart. Their education is hands on not out of a book.
My Wife and I learned that when we moved out to the rural area of SC KY. We had to RELEARN how to plant/grow food and trust me a rural Man with 70 yrs of Life here knows what he is doing…it works.
AND our Spring water is SWEEET and the air is pure…cow shit, forest smells and all of the great life living here.
AND we have acres and acres of woods to get Bambi and firewood.

I thought the oceans were warming. Wouldn’t that make them release CO2, not retain it?

    • spren says:

Exactly. Henry’s Principle dictates the ratio of CO2 in the atmosphere vs the ocean. As temperatures rise, more outgassing from the oceans occur – not the other way around.

  6. Conrad Ziefle says:

You wonder how 2/10000 increase in carbonic acid, a weak acid, would move the PH of the ocean even a tiny fraction of a number. I.e. from 7 to 6.99999, maybe. And given that the oceans have 200x the mass of the atmosphere, the increase, if proportional, would be 1/1,000,000.

  7. Walter Gus Conrad says:

I am glad some climate scientists actually prefer truth.

No surprise to me about “ocean acidification:
CO2 science has a lot of data about this.

  8. Jack the Insider says:

Burned into my consciousness is the scam conducted by Sir David Attenborough where on one of his documentaries he drops a piece of coral into an aquarium that was obviously was full of battery acid not sea water. Of course the coral fragment bubbled and fried as soon as it hit the “water”. One can only imagine the young minds watching this falsehood who lapped it up and became petrified of the fake CO2 / Climate Change narrative. Shame on you David, you once has my respect but not for a long time now.

  9. Who was the climate scientist who told you that?
