Speaking of Florida, Gov DeSantis has text about an amazing accomplishment, the rebuilding of the pine island bridge in 3 days! There’s only one problem, the bridge in his text wasn’t washed out. The bridge in the photo isn’t even the same bridge in question. A section of the road leading to pine island was washed out, and a local construction company hauled in tons of rocks and leveled the road back up and it took 3 days to get that section open so they could cross the bridge. There was no actual bridge involved.
There’s something about DeSantis I don’t trust. Lying about “ his accomplishment” doesn’t make it any easier to trust him.
And now Lindsey Graham is saying the only acceptable outcome in the Russia-Ukraine war is complete Russia regime change.
I’m losing faith that we can trust anyone, much less so called Republican leaders.

I must add that as an engineer and someone whose been involved in construction for well over 40 years, it takes 28 days for poured bridge concrete to cure before you can allow traffic on it. Anyone that believes DeSantis BS about rebuilding the bridge is naive

Google map confirmed. DeSantis lied. The bridge DeSantis showed in his tweet is the west bridge. The section of road involved is by the main bridge to the east. Neither bridge was washed out. The original CBS story I saw showed the thesection of road washed out near the east bridge. There’s also a story by local news that described the construction process, the piling of rocks to level the road back up.
I’ll try to find them later, but they are there. Im losing faith in conservative leaders pandering for power

But you do? Are you saying that you know how exactly it was done and exactly what De Santis said? Something sounds fishy. Jealousy was brewing long before Ian.

Anyone, with any sense, would know you can’t rebuild a bridge in 3 days. However, all I heard and read was that a temporary bridge was constructed so they could get supplies to the island. And even if it was only a section of road before the bridge itself, 3 days is still a small amount of time to do it in. It takes them 4 months to strip the top layer and then repave a road anywhere ive traveled in the US. And Im sure there are places in Florida that are asking why there street wasn’t temporary fixed so fast.
I think the point is that Desantis is getting stuff done and usually quickly. There’s always going to be some exaggeration

Seems that some animals 5 thousand miles away are far more equal.

Maybe they should start a war or shell civilians, then the money will flow.
