Love it Conrad ….After reading Paul Johnson’s study of intellectuals you could have just said ‘ simulacrum of a cliched intellectual ” and Michael Mann would be a most fitting addition to Johnson’s anthology ‘hurling gigantic curses ” at Tony Heller Mark Steyn and Jordan Peterson

I didn’t think Mann could sound any dumber, that sentence sent him off the charts.
I recall words of wisdom suggesting that it is better to remain silent and let people think you a fool, than to speak and prove it beyond shadow of doubt.

It s a highly profitable ignorance. Is somebody with a vested interest paid you huge sums of money to declare the Earth is flat and the Sun goes around it, would you turn it down? It takes great ingenuity to perpetuate a nonsensical theory in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

Anyways: Peterson,in contrast to Mann, is at least so smart to not pretend he got the Nobel Prize.And he is being held accountable even when he does not make mistakes while Mann still doesn’t know what accountability even is.

I’ll never use it in a spoken sentence. I’d probably mispronounce it. But obviously Mike thinks that if you use a word others must look up, then you are not required to write a coherent sentence.
How does a PUBLIC intellectual differ from an intellectual?

I’m reading The Making of the Atomic Bomb, in which it gives a generic description of the top physicists of the time as being uninvolved in political activity, and solely focused on their area of study 24/7. I think we can rest assured that Michael Mann is not a leading scientist in any form.
