    Try as we may to force Nature into predictable, neat patterns, ‘laws’ we call them, ‘truths’ that can be believed like the solidity of granite, but somehow the jinx steps in just when we venture to act and lays us on our ass and there leaves us laughing.

    Seems that the end of snow was already an old excuse 3 hours after winter sports were invented,

    Of course four years before the Winter Olympics in Bavaria the 1932 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid almost got cancelled or delayed due to lack of snow.
