Gore’s ignorance is demonstrated by his belief that greenhouse gases spontaneously generate energy from nothing. That is the underpinning belief in the greenhouse effect, which arises from sloppy energy accounting, and has nothing to do with physics.
If the energy flow at any stage of an equilibrium calculation differs from the solar constant modified by the albedo – you’ve got your sums wrong.

This would yield a tropopause temperature increase of 39 Kelvin, so we should expect the resultant equilibrium temperature to be 54 degrees Celsius. Pull the other one.

When we take atmospheric pressure into account the concentration of co2 molecules on Mars should still be 20 – 25 * higher than on earth.

Interesting discussion here! Not sure I agree with much of it – the Hiroshima bomb analogy really dramatizes the impact of greenhouse gases. Should keep our terms straight – energy, power, and temperature all play different roles in climate science.
I appreciate the comparisons between Earth and Mars, too. Shows just how complex and varied planetary atmospheres can be. It’s great to have a skeptical eye, but our skepticism needs to be backed by solid science.
