0.00008% of Antarctica has turned green.
“Antarctica has turned green due to global warming: the vegetation cover has increased more than 10 times.
A team of scientists analyzed satellite images of the peninsula over the past 40 years to find out how much of the territory has turned green as a result of warming. The analysis of Landsat archives (1986-2021) was conducted using the Google Earth Engine cloud processing workflow, NatureGeoscience writes.”
“Back in 1986, the images show that only one square kilometer of the peninsula was covered with vegetation. However, by 2021, this area had grown to almost 12 square kilometers.”

Northern Canada, where there would have been no trees growing for most of the last 100 000 years.
My guess is that it has happened many times before they started noticing it.
The “bright green” in the bottom half of the Robert Island photo appears to be fake. I’d lay money University of Exeter used a photoshop editor to use mask and Quick Mask and RGB color balance to enhance the green, if not expand it. It likely looks nothing like the original image.
Furthermore, the top half appears to me to be a dark green. And – the fit is perfect to the bottom half. It would not surprise me at all if the bottom and top halves were of actually the very same image, with the bottom half doctored. We are well aware climate alarmists have no qualms at all doctoring data. JMO
Never mind my post. I read it again – they are admitting they doctored the bottom half – it IS the same image.

So greening of the planet and reducing the temperature gradient between the Equator and poles is supposed to be bad? If true, this is good news. May it long continue.
My Antarctica pineapple farm is now ready to sell pineapples to Green voters only.
Wait until the “scientists” discover the McMurdo Dry valleys, all 15 of them, with an almost total lack of snow or ice (obviously caused by climate change – what else could it be ?)
And they’ll be soiling their underwear when they find out that Antarctica has several rivers – yes really! – the largest one is the 20 mile long Onyx river and was rafted by New Zealand scientists in 1984.
They just need to get out more.
Gotta love the headline. Antarctica (area: 14,200,000 sq km) has added 11 sq km of (sorta) green. In other words, well under a millionth of its land mass. This is comparable to three drops of water in a 55-gallon drum. But, ANTARCTICA HAS TURNED GREEN…
I assume it is lichens, or algae or something like that, from 1 km2 to 12. They sure know how to spin the numbers.
Considering that the NASA Mafia already announced years ago that the earth got 5% greener as result of more co2 ,
it must have been really a surprise to Experts
that 0.001% of those greening happened in Antarctica.
