I was devastated to learn this morning that all seven billion inhabitants of the planet are doomed. Most people in the US will be dead within 80 years of their birth. Life is simply not sustainable for more than about 100 years.
I checked around some more from other sources and all agreed. We will all die from climate change, or possibly some other malady.

* I added my own entry for climate change at the bottom.
See! If we can cure cancer and heart disease, then half of us would live forever. ….or uh, …..until climate change got us.
” Global Climate Disruption : 0 ”
I think you made a typo and missed off ‘30000’ from your initial ‘0’ , and that’s per year apparently, if you believe think tank studies;
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30998907/
I didn’t see a stat in there about how many deaths from starvation caused by biofuel programs.
It’s supposed to be doing good for the world to put food in your gas tank. It’s in the name of ‘global warming’ so it must be good. People starving to death as a result? Families in poor countries being broken up as a result because one member has to move to a big city to find a job to send money home to buy food? What global warmer cares about that?
People are dying, right now, from ‘global warming’, not pretend dying 100 years from now. I think it might be better to say people are being killed by ‘global warming’.
What global warmer cares about that?
All of them. Nobody likes converting food into fuel. That’s why essentially all of the current research is on second generation biofuels, which use non-food biomass.
If you’re going to make arguments, try not to use straw men.
That’s why essentially all of the current research is on second generation biofuels, which use non-food biomass.
Research is fine, the problem is that current policy in many countries encourages starving the people of poor countries to death so that rich countries can reach their “carbon goals” and their inhabitants can get that warm fuzzy feeling of saving the world while they fill up their cars with other people’s food.
Right, and there isn’t anyone who thinks this is good, as Amino appears to believe.
Wrong. A lot of people think “this” is good, if “this” is biofuel, and they have an amazing ability to start babbling loud about “second generation” when one mentions that biofuels kill.
Currently, biofuels are more dangerous than widespread use of Chernobyl-type nuclear plants. The lunacy should be stopped immediately until we get can meet biofuel demand solely by biofuels from waste, algae etc. that are guaranteed not to replace food crops.
No. Not wrong.
Amino claims that “global warmers” don’t care that biofuels are causing hunger, broken families, etc., etc., because they combat global warming. Nobody thinks that.
Are there people who are unaware of the problems with first gen biofuels and therefore think they’re an unqualified benefit? Of course. There are also people who think we fought against the British in WWII. Being misinformed is not the same thing as approving of biofuels even if you know they’re causing serious problems in some areas.
ChrisD: There are plenty people who are closing there eyes to the risks of first-generation biofuels because they believe that they’re an important step on the road to second-generation biofuels and “carbon-free” utopia. Just like there were people ignoring reports of the gulags because they believed Soviet was an important step on the road to communist utopia.
You mean we all won’t live forever??? 🙁
Well, not in this form anyway. 🙂
Do we really want to live forever anyway? Most of us are incapacitated by the time we’re about 80 or so. (Yes there are millions of exceptions) but for the most part, if we live to by 80, the remainder of our life will be a series of degenerative maladies and ailments until we’re reduced to becoming un-ambulatory[sic?], and reliant upon others for even the most basic of necessities up to and including someone popping by from time to time to change our depends(diapers). Oh, yeh, that’s what I want, imagine if we all lived to be 120 yrs old. 40 years of decreasing cognitive awareness, and debilitating diseases and injuries.
Not for me, its coffee, beer and cigs and large portions of read meat for me. I’ll have the grace to go out when I’m meant to.
Carve out a few stem cells and grow replacment organs if you want to live to be a 1000.
