Hottest Year Ever : UK’s Barbecue Summer

Piers Corbyn reminded us that Positive Weather Solutions forecast the summer of 2010 to be the hottest on record.

Central England Temperatures in June and July were above the 1659-2010 median, but May and August were below. No month in 2010 has come close to a record high.

January was almost as warm as the year 1672. February was almost as warm as 1744. March was almost as warm as 1730. April was almost as warm as 1706. May was almost as warm as 1725. June was almost as warm as 1724. July was almost as warm as 1699. August was almost as warm as 1744. And September was almost as warm as 1752.

Of course. all of the 2010 temperatures are artificially high due to UHI effects. The real 2010 numbers are somewhat cooler. England is almost as warm now as it was in the 17th and 18th centuries!

October is looking low too but the next week should be a bit above average so it might be close to average.

    October 10.9 -0.2 provisional, to the 23rd

To compare with other CET graphs back to 2006 just change the year on the link below.

Right, and this country is bankrupting it’s self because of massive green spending donating billions of pounds to keep the AGW lies alive.
Even the budgets cuts taken by the UK are a lie is.
    Those endless cuts

  4. don penman says:

As UK summers go this was quite a reasonable summer it may not have been the warmest ever but we did get quite a lot of warm sunny days as well as the usual rain.

  5. Brendon says:

“No month in 2010 has come close to a record high.”

    But globally it has.

  6. Edward says:

Anecdotal evidence in the North of England, it has been a cool late summer, early Autumn has been all over the place (day time temps in 70s not in the North tho’ it must be said… three weeks ago) with temperatures expected to fall to -6 in rural areas tonight.
With snow last week, that’s quite unusual for the North of England in October.
I’ve read reports and had contact with people in N America, Australia, New Zealand and Northern Europe all saying how cold it has been at times, the SH has had it cold in their recent winter.
On all (southern) continents it has been cold even as far north as Peru and Brazil in South America and the Antarctic (sea) ice has been running at high levels (like you didn’t know!).
The continents are cooling now in the North as winter sets in, some say it may be another cold one, I think that is correct but Britain hopefully will not have a winter like the last – but who really knows?

The Met Office are silent too (mind you who cares what they say anyway!) it’s their new super computer you know – it eats enough ‘juice’ to heat/run Exeter they say (AGW huh?) and…….(shh!! whisper it but it is ‘programmed’ incorrectly no one told em about PDOs + AMOs) – no ***t, I hear you say!….NO don’t laugh.

Joe (Bastardi) says it will be cold (this winter in Britain) but not Siberian, hope yer right Joe!

And the Pacific is cooling, yes it’s has been the warmest ever!! ……Somewhere but not in N England.

And the T trend is down – not even Jimbo Hansen can twist the stats anymore.

SSTs again! (and cooking the books too).

http://seoblackhat.com/2007/03/04/global-warming-on-mars-pluto-triton-and-jupiter/ So why don’t any scientist talk about the warming on the rest of the solar system??? What causes this? Is earth in a special bubble that is not effected by the sun?

  8. Greg says:

    Pluto hottest year ever? http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2002/pluto.html

Jupiter warming causing more hurricanes like Al Gore said http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/060504_red_jr.html

    Triton, tipping point approaching?? http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/1998/triton.html

    Mars is warmingBrendon says:

ML: “It looks that you did some investigation already. Could you please share your findings.”

    re: Mars, start here.

    http://www.skepticalscience.com/global-warming-on-mars.htm

    First paragraph from your link:

“Scientists are telling us Mars is experiencing its own planetary warming. NASA says the Martian South Pole’s ice cap has been shrinking for three summers in a row. Maybe Mars got its fever from earth. If so, I guess Jupiter’s caught the same cold, because it’s warming up too, like Pluto. I wonder what all those planets, dwarf planets and moons in our SOLAR system have in common. Hmmmm. Solar?” (Fred Thompson).

O.K. I think we have to change the name again, how about: Catastrofic Antropogenic Solar System Climate (warming, change , disruption — take your pick)

To fight this I pledge not to drive my SUV on Mars on weekdays only. As a bonus I pledge also not to f&&t in the direction of Pluto more then 3 times a week.
Yup, that will do it, How about you 🙂

    • Brendon says:

ML says: “First paragraph from your link:”

Yes, the first paragraph is the “skeptics position” – that’d be you.

Did you read the rest? Do you understand why solar is not the cause? The last 30+ years the sun’s been getting cooler.

      • ML says:

Yes I did. Did you ?
The bottom line is that……….. see quotes from the article:
        1. “we know so little about Mars that it’s impossible to say what trends in climate the planet is experiencing”
        2. “yet even this small amount of data has been misunderstood”
3.”We have virtually no historical data about the climate of Mars prior to the 1970s”
4.” It is not possible to tell if current observations reveal frequent or infrequent events, trends or outliers. ”

I could continue, but there is no point to do it.

The bottom line is that we know nothing, apart from this everything else is just pure speculation , some of it can be classified as an educated guess, but still it is a guess.
It is a pitty that so much money was wasted on the woodooo science hockey stick

      • Brendon says:

Great. So at least you understand how silly it is to think that we can absolve man-made CO2 from causing warming here just because a few other planets might show some signs of what could be interpreted as warming, from some other possible source.

    • ChrisD says:

it’s warming up too, like Pluto

We have exactly two very indirect temperature readings for Pluto, taken 14 years apart. Given that Pluto’s orbit is close to 250 Earth years, this is like taking two readings on Earth three weeks apart.

In other words, “skeptics” are willing to state categorically that Pluto is warming based on the equivalent of one reading on March 1st and another on March 20th.

And yet many “skeptics” aren’t willing to admit that Earth is warming despite millions of readings extending back many decades.

SkepticWorld must be a wonderful place to live.

      • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

Skeptic world so you believe everything the media tells you? Swine Flu, SARS, Y2k, Weapons of Mass destruction, oh and my favorite PEAK OIL LOL

If Peak oil really exists, why are they so worried about all that CO2, isn’t oil running out next year?

      • Brendon says:

Scarlet Pumpernickel says: “, isn’t oil running out next year?”

WHere is anyone predicting that, and why are you believing them?

      • ChrisD says:

And why did you address every subject known to man except what the comment was about?

      • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

Well when oil was $140 just recently every man and his dog was saying that Peak oil had been hit. We’ll hit peak oil in 4024 maybe even later if it still allowed to be used, but we’ll have fusion long before then.

  10. Greg says:

Using the logic of the AGW crowd, you could say that it was warmer 2000 years ago, as the harbour of Ephesus is 5milies inland, the sea was much higher since the harbour was near the city, today you have to drive miles to get to the sea, thence it is cooler now, the sea shrank….

    ——————
yes it is, because is real

    • ChrisD says:

      because is real

Yes, that explains why two readings taken 3 weeks apart from a distance of many milions of miles is sufficient to prove that there is global warming on Pluto.

Do you guys ever listen to yourselves?

    • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

So is Pluto cooling then? But I thought you liked warming, warming is good for Tax

      • ChrisD says:

A remarkably foolish comment, even for you.

      • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

Come on, warming is always good, but it’s been turned into something that causes us to pay tax. It’s like the dark ages or the burning of Alexandra. The crazies are back to try to steal from the poor to make themselves rich and not allow anyone else to have anything.

Great. So at least you understand how silly it is to think that we can absolve man-made CO2 from causing warming here just because a few other planets might show some signs of what could be interpreted as warming, from some other possible source.

    or
just replace the word “absolve” with ” blame” and “from” with “for” and suddenly everything make sense

P.S. Sorry but I have to finish this interesting exchange, but in 10 min I have to go to airport to burn some fuel ( I’ve paid for it) 🙂 Will be back in about a week.

    • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

Turn some 100 watt light bulbs on too. They give better light than 40 watts—so nutty environmentalists want to tell you you can’t use them. They just can’t shut up.

  13. Bruce says:

Piers should remember the example of Alfred Wegener. You can be right about warming once, you can be right twice, you can be right all the time, but only after you freeze to death in Greenland THEN everyone will believe you about global warming.

Python explains people, logic does not…
