The science moron term for the week is “ice-free Arctic summers this decade”
Meteorological summer is June to August. The average ice-extent during that period this year was about 2/3 the size of the United States. The minimum extent was about seven times the size of Texas, with much of the remaining ice more than three metres thick.. The peak ice extent was larger than the US.
Ice-free summers are not going to happen. People shouldn’t get paid to be idiots.
Seriously? I can get paid to be an idiot? Dammit, I knew my strategy was wrong!
What I would like Any one of them to answer is: how did the Earth survive the summers of the Holocene Climate Optimum? appell? mann? hansen? anyone?
There can’t ever be no ice…
“cause there’d be no place to put the WEBCAM !!!

I don’t care who you are, that’s funny stuff right there. Lord bless all the pygmies in New Guinea…
I think it is possible for Ice free Arctic summers to happen, not likely, I have no reason to rule out the possibility, but! and there is always a ‘but’ I’ve recently seen some very interesting observations being made lately between the Arctic and Antarctic high/low seasonal variations, which is on a global scale. As I understand it, the southern hemisphere cools before the northern hemisphere cools in the same way it has done in the past.
Watching the Arctic reach above normal during this years seasonal build up and watching how an Arctic storm dominated the break up of the ice during a year when the sun is entering a state of Maximum Solar activity yet the Antarctic southern hemisphere has continued with an overall increase in sea ice, Unusual? NO! it’s a process that we are able to gather information about for the first time in human history. This is a process which has occurred many times naturally in the past. It should be studied at length and understood. I don’t trust people coming to hysterical anthropogenic conclusions of doom, they seem to know and have an answer to questions even some of the best and brightest struggle with, which is very odd!
