US, Canada, Greenland and Mexico temperatures have plummeted over the last five years.
People’s belief systems have done the same.

Note the live zero in the graph folks. The fall is from 50% to 34%; gratifying but not as precipitous as the graph suggests at first glance.
Right, find me climate graph which goes to zero on the Y-axis.
Yeah, kind of like those scary graphs the warmists are always waving their hands about. You know, the graphs that make a .6C rise in temperatures look like Mt Everest!

This proves unequivocally that belief in CAGW will fall to 2% in 2012, and -14% in 2013. 🙂
The trend is down. The proof of warming is down. Consensus is down. Pretty soon AGW not only goes down but goes away.
Steve,
The 34% figure given by Pew for 2010, is a little inflated. When I checked the survey methodology, I cross referenced the partisan ratios in the survey to the partisan ratios for the USA in 2010 and found that Pew underrepresented Republicans by 4%. It’s no big deal but it’s funny how statistical errors in climate always seem to favor the “man is to blame” position. 🙂
Hardly suprising, any person occupying their ‘right frame of mind’ could see through this nonsense to begin with. I never believed for one moment that man has any meaningful role with respect to the climate. The problem as with most things – KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Scientists, governments and the political bodies which both occupy and maintain them – can quite easily exploit the public’s lack of knowledge and awareness on this specific issue. The general public by enlarge – are very gullible – meaning that they can almost be brought to any conlusion provided the necessary incentives exist to fool them! For example, how many members of the public would understand the role of C02 in relation to photosynthesis? How many members of the public would appreciate or understand the fact that Science does not progress by consensus, but by falsification and what Scientists refer to as ‘paradigm shifts’? How many members of the public would understand that the climate is the most complex and chaotic system that we know of – governed by thousands of factors, such as water vapour, low level clouds, solar activity (i.e. cosmic rays and their presumed influence in the formation of clouds), the role of the sun which is not very well understood in many ways, etc, the role of the earth’s vegetation and soil and their specific contribution to CO2 absorption and release?, the oceans which cover over 70% of the earth’s surface and the factors which determine the storage, release and exchange of C02 between the atmosphere and itself! The point being, the public by enlarge pick up the newspapers, switch on the news and simply believe what is being reported to them. The vast majority of people, particularly as far as Science is concerned, would never even think to question the issue of ‘global warming’ or ‘climate change’ – simply because they don’t understand the Science which is absolutely pivotal in developing the right sceptical questions to ask! To be honest, I am hugely ignorant of many aspects relating to ‘climate science’, but the difference lies in the fact that I know enough of the Science at a basic level to appreciate the fact that there are two sides to this debate and the varying standpoints which differentiate the sceptical camp from the alarmist one. If the general public were somehow brought to the same point of knowledge and awareness as myself, Scientists and their governing bodies – would encounter far more difficulty and resistance to the idea of man-made global warming or climate change.
