CO2 Levels Rapidly Increasing In Colorado This Morning

Temperatures have increased by 20 degrees in just a couple of hours. We are told that CO2 regulates the temperature, so I will have to assume that CO2 levels have greatly increased this morning.

One of our leading local climatologists says : “There’s really no question at all that CO2 molecules emit heat.

Could you guys send some CO2 to your neighbors in Kansas? I’m a bit chilly today. Thanks.

Don’t touch that fire extinguisher! It’ll burn you. How do they expect us to put out fires with a hot gas? What are they thinking? Who taught them science?

What I love is the recent sentient science that mentioned that, if CO2 was to absorb energy and warm, it would distribute the heat to its surrounding gas, which would then expand and, by being lower density, rise, causing convection, and the heat would be carried to altitude where it would be lost to space. So, if CO2 was a heat-catching gas, it’s role would be to cause more convection and faster heat loss = we will cool. As a trace gas, this effect will be trace sized.

As CO2 is already absorbing nearly all of the radiation that is available in sunlight. More CO2 would have little effect.

For that matter, water vapor is such a dominant heat-trapping gas that the only place where CO2’s effects MIGHT be noticed would be in the dead of winter in very dry (very cold) air masses. Arctic air masses (called ‘Alberta clippers’ in the Midwest) are not going to be considered warm if they are -30.5 degC and not -31 deg C. The dashboard on my car is still going to crack at -30.5 degC.

I must have the same problem in my valley because the temperature went from 38 to 74 already today and if it does not stop going up I will have cooked fish in my pond by morning!
    OH Dear! What to do?

I wonder if ChrisD will have anything to say about this since he refused to discuss the subject on other threads. Wait I think I hear him now:

    Strawman!
    BS!
    Cherry Picking!

    • ChrisD says:

Unfortunately, I did comment on that.

Don’t you have anything better to do?

      • glacierman says:

So your response is that you know what he meant? I find it interesting that you are willing to apply what someone “meant” to their statements when they are AGW supporters, but argue to the extreme about precise words when they are put out by people you may not agree with.

And yes I do have something better to do. I am stoking up my re-radiating CO2 furnace for the cold winter ahead. I should have some extra heat to share after the house reaches a tipping point. Based on models, it has been calculated that will be in mid February.

It’s up to 85 here today. I guess that means we’ll all suffocate since the C02 is displacing the breathable oxygen.

  7. mkelly says:

“Since infrared radiation is emitted by all objects based on their temperatures, according to the black body radiation law, thermography makes it possible to “see” one’s environment with or without visible illumination.” from wikipedia subject IR.

How do you tell a CO2 molecule at 25 C from an O2 molecule at 25 C both emitting IR? Doesn’t this say that all gases will emit IR?

that was pretty funny. can you conjure vampires and the bogeyman too? 😉

  9. Brendon says:

Climate change is about the steady increase of CO2, not about daily or yearly fluctuations.

    The only one?

What is the point of these infantile posts? It warms up from the morning and you say it is caused by Co2, apparently suggesting that that must be what scientists think. Couldn’t you find a more blatant and pointless straw man to wast time blogging about?
