This is what two feet of snow looks like along I-84 in central Connecticut.
Compare vs. this picture I took in Danbury during February 2011. There was a lot more snow two years ago, but snowstorms weren’t given names at that time – and governors didn’t declare martial law over snowstorms.
Portland has 29″ to set their all time record…

I found mine at a Flea Market and only paid 50 cents! I bought it as a souvenir.
They will be obsolete in a few years.
Ah, but to be fair, the winds were pretty high during Nemo and the snow in drifts with clear areas in between. In Iowa, the Alberta clippers do just that almost every time. We had no snow between the houses but 12 foot drifts just around the corner of the houses. It does making determining the overall depth of snow fall difficult as it blows around even after it stops falling, creating new drifts after they are removed,
I refuse to say Nemo since it was the Weather Channel that named the storm as a marketing effort to draw traffice. No records were broken in spite of all that “moisture from global warming.”
