Gun ban would protect more than 2,200 firearms | Fox News

Gun ban to protect gun ownership? Is Piers Morgan writing for Fox News now?

And if certain gun-rights idiots get my Mini-14 banned because they don’t know how to make an effective argument, I am going to be really pissed.

One model of the Ruger Mini-14 — used in the deadly 1986 FBI shootout — is on the list of banned guns. A different model is on the list of exempted firearms. Gun experts say the two firearms are equally deadly.

That sort of thinking is where the term “shooting yourself in the foot” came from. Any gun can kill people, as can any rock, scissors, box cutter, car or hammer.

  1. Sparks says:

Steve, If you were a proponent of a gun ban, what would your top 5 points be?

    • 1. I am scared little liberal weenie. 2. I trust Nazis and Communists to take care of me. 3. If guns are banned criminals will give them up too. 4. Governments never commit atrocities. 5. Mao, Hitler and Stalin never existed.

Only a complete idiot would support the idea of having an unarmed citizenry in the US.

      • Sparks says:

Rights are very hard to acquire, If everyone has the same constitutional right, equal under law, why is there a campaign to remove this right from civilians? I don’t understand the motivation behind anyone who would freely give up hard earned rights.

      • squid2112 says:

According to our founders, and the Constitution they wrote for us, it is clear that these rights are not “earned” as you say, but are God given and Unalienable. There is nothing to “earn”, and hence, they can only be taken away through the use of coercion and force, Those that would allow such a thing, deserve what they get (Tyranny).

There are already to many restrictions that violate the 2nd Amendment.

    Steven:
The idea of a Mini 14 being an assault weapon is beyond belief. I once owned a couple, one was even the Ranch model. I just did not care for them as a defense weapon to carry around the farm. The AR platform was a better choice for my use, at the time!
This is a nice conversion for your Mini 14

What they entirely do not get is that a regular hunting rifle (308, 30-06, 30-30), designed to take down game 3–6 times larger than a human, is devastating on a human. A Mini-14 is a pea-shooter in comparison, along with cheaper bullets.

Steven, you cropped the image too short. If you extended just a little further down, the article is clearly attributed to the Associated Press.

  6. Ben says:

Presidential kids, who have never been victims of gun violence, require armed protection.
Regular kids, who have been victims of gun violence, do not require armed protection.

    Paper requires armed protection.
    People do not …

    Jewelry requires armed protection.
Jews do not (and did not).

Jet flights require armed federal marshals
Surfers and newspaper deliverers do not

    That is all.
