Navy Issues Security Clearances To Delusional Paranoiacs With Multiple Gun Arrests

The DC shooter had two gun arrests, including one where he fired a bullet into his neighbors apartment and didn’t even bother to check on her. He suffered from delusional paranoia, heard voices, and had a security clearance and a concealed carry license. And the Navy let him slip through security yesterday carrying a rifle.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. law enforcement officials are telling The Associated Press that the Navy contractor identified as the gunman in the mass shootings at the Washington Navy Yard had been suffering a host of serious mental issues, including paranoia and a sleep disorder. He also had been hearing voices in his head, the officials said.  Aaron Alexis, 34, had been treated since August by the Veterans Administration for his mental problems, the officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the criminal investigation in the case was continuing. The Navy had not declared him mentally unfit, which would have rescinded a security clearance

Obama and Feinstein have concluded from this that we need to revoke the Bill of Rights.

was he delusional before the medications I wonder.
another “just made” for the gungrab lobby event isnt it?

  2. WJohn says:

Ah, but was he carrying Skittles?

  3. kbray in california says:

Like Odummy, this guy’s “reality” was only in his distorted illusions.
However, Odummy has more than secret clearance, he has a nuclear button too.

  4. He probably voted for Obama, and he was probably a left leaning kook as well. So, who cares? By the way, the walked in the place with a shot gun. He SHOT a guard, took the guards M16 (or M4 is what most are carrying now). He likely took the side arm (would have likely been a 9 mm) or he carried his own handgun in.

The media isn’t getting this part right.

  5. Why not? Wouldn’t that guarantee a crisis that could be used to further dilute the limitation that the second amendment places on government?

Principle: When you see something that is absurd, don’t question the absurdity. Look at what the absurdity accomplishes and you will have found its purpose.

  6. Gamecock says:

An armed military would be a good idea.

  7. Wizzum says:

So what happened to the second and/or third shooter? Sandy hook redux?

    • papertiger says:

Yeah, I was just listening to a report on the new security procedures that are being set up to deal with “the second and third shooter” senario. But here’s the thing.

A lone nutter paranoid isn’t going to come off as very persuasive to would be confederates while planning a shooting spree. He’d have to be one sweet talker, almost superhuman, when coupled with his mental liabilities.

  8. NotAGolfer says:

I’ll bet this guy was on psychiatric drugs, like every mass murderer (murderers killing over 4 people at a time) in the past 50 years. The crazies who aren’t on the drugs aren’t the mass murderers. The people on the drugs are the mass murderers. And our government helps Big Pharma make these addictive drugs accessible and cheap to the end user in so many, many ways.

  9. EW3 says:

    “had been treated since August”

Yesterday was Sept 16th. Just how long was this guy in therapy. Just how long was he working at the Navy Yard? Something doesn’t seem quite kosher here….

  10. Gamecock says:

On gun blogs, it’s common after an incident for people to say, “Let’s wait until all the facts are in before we start making judgements.”

    Good advice.

I find today that all my normal news outlets on duh net have NO INFORMATION on the shooting. They have all gone to huff, puff, and fluff. Analysis of the perp’s mental state; biographies of victims; etc. I cannot find out what happened. I wanted to know, as I heard a rumor that the perp shot a guard with a shotgun, and took the guard’s weapons. This is critical to know for forthcoming discussions. The press doesn’t seem to care anymore what actually happened.

    • Mark says:

The press cares very much that any story is slanted toward the left. Look at CNN’s coverage of the NAVy Yard incident as an example. All their suposition about the story with no fact to back any of it up was incredible. Saying things like their may be more then one shooter then their was more than one shooter. The list went on and on. Senator Fienstein used much of what was reported on CNN as ammunition in hearings the next day “as proof”. Of course it has to be true because CNN is the number on news source. Never mind that more people watch FOX than all other cable news channels combined.

      • Shazaam says:

The point the news-readers/presstitutes all seem to miss or downplay is that the shooter had a government security clearance. That’s a big one.

Given that the government fails so massively in clearing it’s own employees, why (insert expletives) is the same government pushing for more onerous registration / clearance regulations for gun owners??

Giving the green light to a black Obama loving paranoid schizophrenic is the liberal way to avoid any politically correct condemnation by leftoids.

He probably listed Muslim on the application. By O’s law must approve no questions asked.
