Another Aggie Professor Proves The Earth Isn’t Warming

Texas temperatures are going up pretty much like the earth’s temperatures are,”
– Gerald North, professor of atmospheric sciences and oceanography.

Since Texas summer and annual temperatures have not warmed, that means we can put the AGW story to bed.

Hate it when teh long term date disagree with all those expensive models

Especially when they disagree the wrong way around.
    Back to the 70’s ?

Beware! the next ice age is coming; And its worse then we thought.

And of course we’ll need funding to investigate and exaggerate.

    • ChrisD says:

Almost all of that “ice age” stuff was in the media. It had almost no support in the scientific community.

Even in the media, there was very little in the way of prediction. Go look at the infamous Time and Newsweek articles (they’re both online). Look for any predictions of a new ice age. You won’t find any, because there weren’t any. The articles were all about observed cooling, not predicted cooling. There was a bit of “what if?” speculation, and that was it.

      • Other than John Holdren (Obama’s science advisor) who wrote a book about it.

      • ChrisD says:

Facts is facts. There was almost no support for a new ice age in the scientific community in the 70s, and I think you know it. Naming one scientist doesn’t change that.

And, while we’re at it, let’s be honest about Holdren.

First, he didn’t “write a book about this.” He wrote a 14-page essay about it that appeared in a book of which he was one coauthor.

Second, what was behind his prediction? Aerosols. What do you think might have happened if developed nations all around the world hadn’t enacted strict controls on aerosol pollution, which is what most scientists believe to have been a primary factor in the cooling observed from the 40s through the late 70s? So, was his essay really as ridiculous as all that?

  3. Tom Bowden says:

So maybe we should ease up on the aerosol restrictions? Would that make the whole warming hysteria go away?
