   Why should the intelligentsia be bothered by the effect of “Global Warming Alarmism” on the worlds poor? None of the other causes that they have championed that have stacked up the bodies like cord wood have caused them to lose a wink of sleep in the past, why should anything change now? Speak empty platitudes, act superior, make bold pronouncements, and real world people inhabit mass graves, die of easily preventable diseases, get limbs chopped off, etc.

   The “intelligentsia” also eliminated the use of DDT and have plenty of blood on their hands for all the Third World deaths which resulted.

       Ahem.

       On behalf of the (liberal) intelligentsia, I just want you to know that we aren’t hiding. We simply aren’t bothering to argue with people such as yourself who (A) have an apparent knee-jerk distaste for the very thing that sets the intelligentsia apart, ie intelligence, and (B) have already made up your minds to the point where no amount of argument would ever sway you.

       But, just for laughs, here it is: we don’t know for sure. For my part, I’m inclined against believing it, though I’m not sold either way. We try to look at the world in terms of cost-benefit analysis, long-term effects, and wide scope – very little in our view is black and white. We readily admit that we do not know everything, and frequently, our views are hijacked by power-mad politicians in the same manner as your views are likely hijacked and misapplied by politicians on the other side of the aisle.

       When our views are hijacked in this manner, it is common for individuals such as yourselves to attribute those bastardized views to the (liberal) “intelligentsia” though that is simply not the case. Likewise, people on my side can frequently only see Glen Beck, Sarah Palin, et al, when they think of your side’s views, though to you, they may not necessarily be indicative of your exact beliefs. In that vein, Al Gore does not speak for the entirety of the (liberal) “intelligentsia” despite being a loud found among them.

       I’m just passing through, following a link, so there’s really no point in responding to me here. If you want to duke it out on pretty much any topic, you can find me on my home away from home, SUFA. I’m one of the token liberals in those parts, and you’ll find a lot of support for you views there, but I’m almost always up for a fight.

   What I find alarming is the lefts complete denial of the facts that swarm about them whilst holding tenaciously to flawed and failed feel good policy. Maybe the deaths of millions in undeveloped countries is the lefts way of reducing the worlds population. The people of the developed world are not buying their AGW scam so they turn to the uneducated.
