This explains the record summer streamflow in the west.
Glaciers, wildlife and forests could disappear entirely from Western national parks because of what a new report by environmental advocacy groups calls the single greatest threat: global warming.
“The snow is melting earlier in the year at very regular intervals now, and we’re getting much longer fire seasons,” said scientist Anthony Westerling of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. “It dries out much more than before.”
The report calls on the National Park Service and Congress to work to limit global warming pollution and mitigate the damage to parks.
“There is a void of federal action,” Spencer said. “We need federal efforts to limit global warming pollution in the near term to slow, stop and reverse global warming pollution from power plants and vehicles. It’s as simple as that.”
An even simpler solution to the global warming problem would be to stop funding UCSD / Scripps Institute of Oceanography. By removing the funding for the researchers that produce garbage such as this we eliminate all the imagined global warming and get back to the real world.
Let me be the first to say, “it’s worse than we thought.”
“Tony” Westerling is associate professor of environmental engineering at Merced. When I went to school, Environmental Engineers were for sewers as the civil engineers were the water supply people.
Tony is associated with Scripps Institute because Merced receives a grant from Scripps.
Tony’s rather lackluster career has focused on attempts to relate California wildfires with global warming.
None of Tony’s writings suggest how anybody might interpret the word “before” in the assertion, “It dries out much more than before.”
Tony is looking for some graduate students.

Students at Merced: Run from Tony faster than you would from a California wildfire
Every time I hear this global warming crap from nitwits I get the same feeling that I did hearing car bombs in Baghdad – it makes me sick, I never got used to it, I keep wishing it would stop, and it still keeps on
The snow is not melting earlier this year Tony:
For July 15th, 2011
Snowpack is 598% of avg above Lake Powell
This is inconstant with forecasts of Man-Made C02 causing Global Warming.
So is seven feet of snow in the Sierras but that doesn’t make a particle of difference to shit heads like Tony
