It is almost 100 degrees and I have an upstairs 0ffice with no AC. Should I dial 911, or should I dial 1-800-turn-on-the-fan-and-stop-being-such-a-pathetic-little-pussy ?

Thanks Steve, you just made my day… Hilarious.
OMG that was great Steve
Nice and cool in my Fort Collins basement office.
My desk is next to a south facing window and there is no AC. Probably 110 degrees at my computer. Sounds like a good time to go for a bike ride up a steep hill.
You know…..
The Kmart on College has 5000 btu window units on sale for $99 right now………..
I like the heat. I lived in Houston with no AC and couldn’t wait for summer.
Tempe got a bit rough though without AC because it doesn’t cool down at night. Thank God for $2.00 pitchers of beer and all you can eat chicken wings in college.
We have that same special at the Tiki Bar now……………LOL
Call the UN Green Helmets. They won’t provide cooling but lecture you over your past carbon sins.
Those poor babies 🙂 When I was growing up in northern California in the early 60’s, we used to match the time with the temp. Meaning at 7:00 am it was 70 deg, at 8:00 am it was 80 deg and by 1:00 pm it was over 100 for a few weeks at a time. In the summer it ALWAYS broke 100, if it didn’t there was a problem. What a bunch of whiners 🙂
In Phoenix it is 90 at 8. 100 at 9. 110 at 3:00. 100 at midnight. 80 at 6am.
Oh BTW, here in Northern Germany we don’t have a real summer this year; it already feels like autumn, but when we do have a heatwave it gets pretty hot in my 2nd story flat without AC (nobody here has AC at home; only offices and shops. Electricity for pricate consumers is the 2nd most expensive in the world after Denmark, that’s why).
So what i do on such hot days is i fill the bathtub with cold water and from time to time go there and hold my wrists into it until it feels like my hands fall off. Works very well.
Cooling the socialist way 😉
But you don’t have the 129 heat index that we have in DC. If you did, you would be begging for some AC!
Andy, of course. Northern Germany is rather temperate.
