Large Ice Cube Still Missing

Last July, there was a mass hysteria about an ice cube which broke off the Petermann glacier in Greenland. The Manhattan sized ice cube is still missing and apparently has not yet destroyed Newfoundland – as some predicted at the time.

There were even reports that the iceberg could be seen from space! (Meaning that it is at least as large as the license plate on your car.)

The glacier has returned to almost exactly the same place as when it calved last year :

So much for that outbreak of alarmist hysteria…….

I was wondering what happened to ‘Deniersberg’ . The phenomenon of icebergs breaking off of glaciers was unprecedented until then. As a denier when will I get my 40 acres of ice and a polar bear?

I was wondering where it had gone the other day, I assumed it broke up into smaller pieces once this years melt got under way. It was always moving too slowly to go anywhere before the winter freeze last year.

Slow rate of melt these last few days, 2007 is looking very safe now.

It’s hiding out with Elvis, Trenberth’s missing heat and the IPCC’s credibility.
