  1. Andy WeissDC says:

Since accurate satellite temperature data only goes back to 1979, we have no idea what the temperture actually was in 1972. We would first need to have a climate expert like Dr. Hansen review and properly adjust the data from 1972 before reaching any conclusion.

    • We Know that 1972 was at least 500 years ago, because last summer they claimed that Moscow hadn’t had a similar heat wave in at least 500 years.

    • glacierman says:

Doesn’t Briffa have some special pine trees that have been calibrated to 0.01 degree C that could tell exactly what the temperature was at 4:00 pm on August 28, 1972 in Moscow? Because the pine trees are located in the western US, they will have to use a little bit of computer code to extract the teleconnected temperature in Moscow, but with Michael Mann’s help, they will have the answer with error bars in no time.

  2. Blade says:

    Oh dear.

This historical flashback is very inconvenient for Joe Romm and Algore and their fellow propagandists.
