Despite the fact that Hansen has been misquoted (on the high side) by almost every newspaper in the world a few dozen times over the last 30 years, I have yet to see a single retraction or correction anywhere on a Google news search.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Hanson misquoted again in 1987 – this time he said that by the 1990s temps would move above historical ranges…….I guess that he meant as long as he can adjust and tune the temp record. As soon as they tune the satelites to his temp record he will be correct and the paper will have to post a correction.

Hanson misquoted again in 1986 – This time stating that temps would go up 2 degrees in the next 20 years and by 2040 Washington DC would have about a dozen days above 100 degrees F. We all know he would never intentionally scare people, so the reporter must have gotten it wrong.

I have to issue a correction – I meant Hansen – not Hanson, you know the one who hasn’t been trying to scare everyone since the early 1980s. He is just too darned smart for a normal english speaker to understand him.
Hansen obviously misquoted again in 1987. This time he was 99% sure the Earth would warm by 3 – 9 degrees F in the next century. Was Michael Mann’s code available then. 99%? Wow, he is good, but obviously the reporter must have gotten it wrong……again.

Here he is again in 1988 being misquoted in the exact same way: “I am 99% sure…”.
Some great stuff from Dr. Woodwell from Woods Hole in this one. He was probably misquoted too.

“The West Side Highway will be under water. And there will be tape across the windows across the street because of high winds. And the same birds won’t be there. The trees in the median strip will change. There will be more police cars. Well, you know what happens to crime when the heat goes up.”

Tony Duncan has spent thousands of hours researching that statement and is certain that Hansen never said it.
Again Hansen misquoted in 1986 – This time stating that temps would rise in 15 years to levels not present on Earth in 100,000 years. I wonder how he knows that? Oh, yea, the magical bristle cones I guess.

Surely Hansen would insist on a correction from Fox News for this in 2010……wouldn’t he?
“Hansen predicted over twenty years ago that much of Manhattan would be under water by now as the result of sea level rise caused by global warming.”

“Does he still believe these things? Yes, he still believes everything. I talked to him a few months ago and he said he wouldn’t change anything that he said then.”
http://dir.salon.com/books/int/2001/10/23/weather/print.html
He still agrees with the things he never said.
Being wrong is a resume enhancer to the left. Besides, if you advance the leftist cause you will always have a bevy of spinsters constantly working to rewrite history on your behalf.
Actually, it doesn’t matter whether you’re wrong or right, as long as you make some kind of claim that is obviously scary.
Looks like Mr Duncan needs to interview Suzy Hansen, she insists Jimmy said these things. It would be pretty hard to prove these conversations never happened, there are only two people who know.
“Well, you know what happens to crime when the heat goes up.”
No, I don’t. Does Hansen have the data that does show a correlation between the average temperature of a city and the crime rate, or ANYTHING at all? I doubt it.
Everyone knows crime is CO2 driven, just look at the carbon markets.
There seems to be an almost perfect correlation between CO2 research and fraud.
