    Wet, too!
Wettest March on record in Australia Issued 4th April 2011

    …and getting wetter…
Sydney bracing for wettest July since 1959.
    AAP
Sydney is bracing for the wettest July in more than 50 years as a severe weather warning is issued for coastal areas.
Torrential rainfall is creating traffic chaos as flooded roads are closed across the state.
Observatory Hill in Sydney’s city centre has recorded 171 millimetres in the month so far, already giving coastal areas of the NSW capital the wettest July since 1999.”

  3. Andy WeissDC says:

Apparently, weather prior to 1950 never happened before in Australia either. The creationists are incorrect. The world was created not 6,000 years ago, but 61 years ago. Anyone older than 61 does not exist.

  4. TinyCO2 says:

Question – could there be a mechanism that redistributes the cloud from one normal to another. It seems to me that a decline in cloud over higher lattitudes would make temperatures swing more severely. Hoter in the summer, colder in the winter. Could cosmic rays or changes in the sun vary the jet stream? Is climate change not just a matter of what we’ve got (clouds) but where we’ve got it?

    • DirkH says:

No shortage of clouds in Germany; that’s the latitude of Southern Canada. GCM’s BTW are still incapable of getting the latitudinal distribution of clouds right. They do get the global cloudiness halfway right; that’s a promising start.

    • RIP says:

Yes, cosmic rays influence cloud nucluation. [sorry about the spelling] Also, venting events [lensing] have been noticed, yet the [then] consensious was it had little if any effect. Water vapor is 700 times the green house gas. Not counting the 30% of cloud/snow reflectivity. A giant function if there is a change in the climate. What It is, is not a truthful dialoge. More like lobbiests. With the ice gone the sea can evaporate, will regular fall as snow in the winter. Ice age is really a snow age. It has to be basically warm to happen. 32 and sunny is kinda warm actually…

  5. Dr. Killpatient says:

….see? This is just what the models predicted. Again.

  6. Joe says:

Very cold there, and yet Australians are being introduced to a new carbon tax, because the government says it’s getting warmer.

Just believe the OPPOSITE of whatever Western leaders tell you.

    • toodles says:

Why is it so impossible to comprehend that “Global Warming” is all about the increase of extreme weather patterns due to rising global temperatures, in general??! We’re having record heat in U.S…120 heat index today in a formerly mild region!… A winter ago we had unheard of record blizzards (warming oceans produce increased precipitation). We also had our worst tornadoes ever this spring!.. .And do check out the worst ever wild fires out West! Please learn some SCIENCE before you dismiss the theory altogether!! It’s so disingenuous. Besides, Australia can observe the effects more readily, as they are closer to the poles with fragile ecosystems.

      • How does that Kool-Aid taste?

      • WonderDoug says:

Whatever the media reports it is not SCIENCE. Fact: it was not the worst Spring for tornadoes.
I had hoped the record blizzards would have protected the trees from fires or at least watered them.
Olympic National Park (Washington State), it’s late July and many trails have snow starting at 4000′ some down to 2650′.

      • BigT says:

Toodles – you have been snookered by the media. A record ‘heat index’ is a record because the Weather Bureau has only recently started calculating ‘heat index’. The first year they did this EVERY reading was a record! And idiots like you fall for it.

Very few record temperatures were recorded recently. The summer has been hot the past few weeks, but nowhere near record heat. Try 1953, 1934, 1988 and some others to see hot weather.

  7. Baa Humbug says:

In fact winter so far has been very very cold.
Tradesman and gtruckies who normally only wear Stubby Shorts and navy Tank Tops (that’s singlets to you) here in Brisbane, have been seen wearing long pants and long sleeve shirts.
There have even been reports of jumper and jacket wearing tradesman being sighted.
Now that’s not just cold, it’s brass monkeys mate. (meaning it’s cold enough to freeze the balls off of a brass monkey)

  8. Bruce says:

    Egg, meet face…

  9. kc says:

toodles…….ask a canadian living on the west coast i can assure you we are having records set every week of very wet and very cold weather here. we call this the summer that never came. and the last two winters here were unbelievably cold. we set global historical records on our mountains last winter for snow pack. do not get suckered in by big business making money because of their warming agendas.
