James Hansen – who is the world’s leading thinker in this area with the Goddard Institute of NASA – believes we’re on the brink of triggering a 25m rise in sea level.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

I had wondered what happened to Tiny Tim! He shaved his head and became a Chicken Little wannabe giving interviews to WWF (not wrestling)!
I could not stay on the site long enough if they gave a time estimate for the 25 meters. Maybe our resident Sceptic, TonyD will let us know the WHEN of the rise.
My guess is somewhere between 1 and 15000 years (give or take a few thousand years). Right now we’re still on the brink according to Hansen and Flannery so that would make any predictions a little less precise. Once we have actually triggered the sea rise they would be able to say more exactly when it will happen.
WWF: Do you personally know climate sceptics who’ve changed their mind?
TF: I do. It was very interesting in the US. The industry had separate representatives to talk to annual meetings of meteorologists around the US – these are people who read the weather on television – and had done a very good job of snowing them with misinformation. When the book came out I had several phone calls from meteorologists who just said: “Thank you so much for making this clear to me. I was a sceptic before, now I know what the real situation is.”
What BS… I’ve been looking for 5 years to find a single case of a climate realist becoming alarmist. Still haven’t found one. Now we have meteorologists “converting”? I’d like to see that!
So would I. Over the years I have seen many warmists turn skpetical, but never have I seen a true skeptic become a believer. I have seen claims of this, but when investigated they were just ‘unsure’ and not skeptical.

The same Tim Flannery that lives on a waterfront property?

I have not heard that Hansen is suing Flannery for libel, I have not even seen Hansen deny this statement. We really should get Hansen and Camping together, on a lowlying island somewhere.
