In 1995, public utility hearings in Minnesota found that the coal industry had paid more than $1 million to four scientists who were public dissenters on global warming.
Compared to the many billions going to alarmists.

For truth shall set you free. Lying takes a bit more doing and hence is expensive.
I don’t call them Alarmists any longer. I call them what they are – Climate Liars. The Climate Liars have concocted this insane global warming scam from day 1, and the media, being among the dumbest and most unscrupulous people on the planet have aided and abetted them every inch of the way. Climate Liars don’t have any facts or proof to support their position, so the make it up. Everything they spout is a lie.
No morals, no conscience, no brains = Climate Liars.
It the truth were on their side, the alarmists would have no need to lie. Anyone that says that lying is OK automatically destroys the credibility of everything they say.
Ah yes, notice the article’s author, Ross Gelbspan. Click on my name above and you see how I describe him as the central figure of what I call the ’96-to-present smear of skeptic scientists. He tries to insinuate a conspiracy of skeptic scientists / fossil fuel industry reminiscent of the tobacco industries’ conspiracy to downplay the hazards of cigarette smoking. But his ‘evidence’ against skeptic scientists is unsupportable. He and anyone else has yet to an exchange of money resulted in fabricated false climate reports or assessments.
Worse, Al Gore may have had a bigger role to play in this than I originally thought, and this specific smear effort even has people working with the IPCC. Please see: Smearing Skeptic Scientists: What did Gore know and when did he know it?” http://www.climatedepot.com/a/11168/Climate-Depot-Exclusive-Smearing-Skeptic-Scientists-What-did-Gore-know-and-when-did-he-know-it and “There is a Cancer Growing on the IPCC and Al Gore” http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/06/there_is_a_cancer_growing_on_the_ipcc_and_al_gore.html
Stephen Schneider/Stanford got $100,000,000.00 from Exxon.
Is that sum enough for 72 virgins?
