Professor Kevin Anderson, director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change in Britain :
‘‘For humanity it’s a matter of life or death … we will not make all human beings extinct, as a few people with the right sort of resources may put themselves in the right parts of the world and survive. But I think it’s extremely unlikely that we wouldn’t have mass death at 4 degrees.
Four degrees warming in Canada would make the place unlivable. Can you imagine winters at -26C instead of -30c?
The difference between -26C and -30C is that at -30, it only takes 10 seconds for the hairs in your nose to freeze together ;).
Gosh, I can’t imagine Winters here when the lowest temperatures would dip down to -16°C (that’s around 3°F for the scientifically illiterate) instead of -4°F (that’s around -20°C for the scientifically illiterate). Heaven knows how we’d survive such travails.
You’ll know me, I’ll be the guy riding his bicycle in Bermuda shorts & a strapless bustier next February.
Here on the West Coast -19C is the coldest and 30C the warmest.
So -15 to about 35C.
I guess more A/C and less heating.
If I can adapt to a 49C swing each year and I can adapt to a 49C each year.
So, using your standard Stevie/Skeptic logic we can increase our temperatures by 30C and it will be a nice balmy 0C.
What’s wrong with that picture Steve? Don’t bust a cerebral artery trying to figure it out.

If temperatures keep staying flat, how long will it take to get to 40C?

Here is your nuclear red herring, lol
Using the Paranoid/Alarmist logic, we all understand that a rise of 400000°C would be bad, therefore a rise of 0.004°C is also bad.
We survived 60 to 80 degree daily temp swings in 29 Palms CA for desert training in the 70’s, water would freeze overnight then temps rise to 115 by afternoon. I’m just glad it was dry heat and not humid, it was a cool experience for me.
