Even if you believe the climate models, they tell you that Julia’s plan does essentially nothing to affect the climate. In order to support this idea, you have to have your head so far up your nether regions that there is no hope of ever extracting it.
Editorial: Small change to save the planet
JULIA Gillard’s taxation solution to climate change is a classic Labor document. It makes the biggest of big business pay and it lavishes concessions on those who would be hardest hit when those businesses pass that tax on carbon back down the line, all the way to the shopping trolley.
The minority Labor Government, with the assistance of the Greens through their greater power in the Senate, has taken the opportunity to make significant changes to the tax system that it hopes will blunt the relentless war Tony Abbott’s Coalition has waged on Labor’s climate change solutions.
It should at least help Labor regain some lost ground and show that it is up for the big economic reforms. It should also turn the debate away from the scientific detail about global warming and what to do about it, to a much more simple and easily understood debate for most Australians: what it means for the household budget.
Labor has built in enough concessions to calm the fears of many Australians. It is calculated that your spare change each week will be enough to pay for saving the planet and for many there will be significant tax benefits.
..and every time someone asks a “believer” about how much difference the tax will make to the climate (specifically, like by how many degrees), they completely ignore the question and start rambling on about how Australia is “..doing the right thing..”.
They’re insulting everyone’s intelligence whilst having zero of their own.

From what I read in Australian MSM & the blogs, Juliar is as popular as ongoing flatulence in a small room that moves between floors. It’s no HYPER_BOWL to write that I doubt we’ll be hearing from the language mangler for very much longer & my ears thank the stars for it.
Its only our extreme socialist Prime Minister and extreme green sidekick that want this nonsense – Australians are hopping mad. Additionally a massive govt run scare campaign targetting school kids has started – its morally repugnant.

The Aussies need to realize that the goal is to put the environment above everything else, even human welfare. With human rights and all legal and moral rights out of the way, anything can be done to them in the name of the good of the environment. Remember, Bolivia was trying to give plants and trees legal standing.
This is the essence of the Green movement, the subversion of all law and religion, and the hegemony of the environment; there is no way to defend yourself, when having food and shelter by definition imposes on the environs around you.
And, the propensity the Greenies have for wishing violence on skeptics gives truth to our descriptions of them as EcoFascists. Fascism = a belief in the supremacy of one national or ethnic group, a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. And, of course, to handle the immediate threat to the citizens, Hitler established the Gestapo (hmmmm, EPA, TSA?).
