Oil Supply To Run Dry By The Year 2000

“By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’”

  5. Beale says:

There have been warnings that we were about to run out of oil since the ’60s – the 1860s.

  6. Beale: I think humans have always loved an “end of whatever” story–end of oil, end of the world, end of snow, end of trees……It’s just so much more attention catching than stories about how well the world works. 🙂
