On September 11—the day Stevens and three other Americans were killed—the ambassador signed a three-page cable, labeled “sensitive,” in which he noted “growing problems with security” in Benghazi and “growing frustration” on the part of local residents with Libyan police and security forces. These forces the ambassador characterized as “too weak to keep the country secure.”
· Roughly a month earlier, Stevens had signed a two-page cable, also labeled “sensitive,” that he entitled “The Guns of August: Security in Eastern Libya.” Writing on August 8, the ambassador noted that in just a few months’ time, “Benghazi has moved from trepidation to euphoria and back as a series of violent incidents has dominated the political landscape … The individual incidents have been organized,” he added, a function of “the security vacuum that a diverse group of independent actors are exploiting for their own purposes.”
“Islamist extremists are able to attack the Red Cross with relative impunity,” Stevens cabled. “What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity, but rather targeted and discriminate attacks.” His final comment on the two-page document was: “Attackers are unlikely to be deterred until authorities are at least as capable.”

After the ambassador was killed by terrorists, Obama responded by lying about the incident – and later arranging for Candy Crowley at CNN to help him lie about it on national television.

We still haven’t heard the whole story. What was Stevens doing in Benghazi after sending that message? What was more important than his own personal security?
It’s as if he had exited a burning house, called the fire brigade and then reentered the building.
He was there to try and reclaim weapons we gave to the rebels ( Al Qaeda), and it went very, very bad.
So…it was Steven’s fault. Please let Obama and Hillary know. I am sure they will be relieved.
Unfortunately very sad and dangerous, but I must say it is also quite comical watching the POS that is “occupying” our White House, scrambling around, chasing his tail to cover one lie with another and so on. I now appreciate, as a youngster, my father preaching to me about how one lie leads to another and pretty soon it becomes impossible keep track of the lies, they just compound one another. If nothing else, the POS in our White House is demonstrably proving this theory. Again, if it weren’t so truly sad and dangerous, it would be worth many a laugh.
My heart goes out to those individuals and their families that were lost because of the lies and incompetency of the POS that is “occupying” our White House. God Bless!
Ambassador risks life and limb to recover arms? I don’t buy it….
The fact is that one of the seals that accompanied him, stated in an interview just weeks before he was killed, that he was on a mission to recover US arms. And then there is this…
“AMB Chris Stevens was NOT surprised by his killers in Benghazi, Libya as has been portrayed thus far. According to sources in the State Department Chris Stevens was in Benghazi, Libya at the specific instruction of the Obama White House to recover weapons that the U.S. supplied to Libya rebels in the over throw of Gaddafi. These sources who work in the State Department and the Obama White House say that Barack Obama was directly involved in negotiations with Libyan Rebels in an effort to recover weapons that the U.S. supplied them. Sources say that the arrangements were made between Barack Obama direct talks and that the White House directly arranged for AMB Stevens to travel to Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 and it was by direction of Barack Obama that Stevens was to meet with the very individuals who tortured, raped and murdered him.”

Thanks Gator. Now it makes a very sad sense 🙁
I only wish sense were involved. We are, right now, making the same mistake in Syria.
